Exactly. It's always "I heard that..." "I know AFOAF that..." "I thought...."
Fear of opiates runs rampant in all psychedelic communities, ever since the hippies started ODing in the 60s.

Well, I saw a documentary in which the man did die from opiate withdrawal while in treatment trying to quit.
A quick Google search turned up a few additional hits saying that yes, opiate withdrawal can kill you in some cases.
You can call me ignorant and those sources may be wrong, but there does seem to some indication that it can, and you haven't shown us any sources saying it cant.
I dont know one way or the other but It would make sense that you could die from opiate withdrawal.
Opiate withdrawal is described as like a really bad flu. Really bad flus kill thousands of people a year. If your health as already compromised in any way (as most IV drug users would be) I can easily imagine severe withdrawal overtaxing the body to the point of death. It might not kill a strong healthy young person, but most IV heroin addicts are frail and I could see that ordeal killing them for sure.

I already said it's possible, but only with other factors involved, such as other drugs, dying from side effects such as puking or diarrhea, or in your case having an extremely unlikely compromised immune system.
It's not the same as alcohol and benzos, the only drugs that can kill from withdrawal alone by causing seizures.
Yes, I said it's possible to die from opiate withdrawal, but it's extremely unlikely vs alcohol and/or benzos.

Opioid withdrawals alone cannot kill you, however it would be possible of them to exacerbate an underlying condition which could result in death. Opioid (heroin like) withdrawals cause nausea, vomiting diarrhea, and flu like symptoms, they cannot kill you.
Alcohol and benzo withdrawals however cause seizures, delerium, confusion, diarrhea, fear, possibly euphoria, hallucinations, vommitting, GI upset, tremors, tachycardia, migraines, fevers, and in severe cases death.

If it's euphoric it might be worth it. People take tramadol for the euphoria and get seizures and die.. What's your point?

I would imagine the "euphoria" listed is caused by excess stimulation due to not taking their downers. It might result in tingles in the head or something.
Anyway, sorry for 'jacking the thread, but I don't like misinformation.

I'm not trying to make any point. Go ahead, get addicted to benzos and maybe, just maybe you get to experience a streak of euphoria. Like you said it might be worth it.

Ok I take a lot of crap unfortunately because well I have issues.
AM Meds:
1mg Klonopin 3X's per day Prn I usually only take 2 but I do take 1 everyday, because i have anxiety issues that are just nuts!
Marijuana a bowl in the a.m. is a must for me.
As in coffee IE, caffeine I cannot start my day without it.
I have a Sympathetic Nerve disease called RSD/CRPS I'm not going to explain it the googltie can explain better than me. All I'll say is I'm in chronic pain 24/7 and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
So for that I am on the Duragsic patch they want me to overlap and use it every 48 hours but I always like to have extra in case of an emergency. So those I always have a decent amount of.
I'm on 50mcg for reference. I also get "break through" or "rescue" medication which are 15 Mg oxy's so I have them through out the day always one in the am because I wakeup in pain. PM Meds: At night I take my nerve helper which is a tricyclic antidepressant called Sinequan/Doxepin. That sorta kinda helps me sleep and the nerve pain so yea that suxes. Then I have Restoril 15Mg for sleep if needed as well. I used to get Halcion which, rocked but my insurance wouldn't cover it.
Now that I am switching to a better plan I hope it will cause otherwise I'll just be a Vampire
I also have Soma PRN for muscle spasms and all that groovy shit cause I have a bad back on top of it. Now I'm 34 so some may think WTF is this chick doing talking all these meds?!?!?
Well it sux for me but most is genetic I have a certain kind of Rheumatoid arthritis which I get Marinol and steroids for. The the nerve disease and some other crap because I was a competitive cheerleader from 3rd to 12th grade. We had to be able to do crazy shit to win and we did win. Did I know it would fuck me up in the future, No.
Because of this I have had 3 knee surgeries 1 right ulnar resection and a carpel tunnel surgery. So I'm fucked but whatever it is the card I was dealt so I deal.
Yea it's a lot of meds and I know all about opiates and benzos most od's are from a combo. A true opiate od is not as common as the latter. I am super careful tough with my meds because I think when you're in pain you don't want to fuck up your Doc situation etc,.
So I know the benefits and risks and would rather have quality of life vs quantity of life. Just my 2 cc's on the topic.

An adderall XR:
They rock. Better than methylphenidate or something, anyway.
