    #19025974 - 10/24/13 02:16 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Habitat: Found growing under a rotten stump in the soil in southern new jersey.
Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.

Gills: White gills.
Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc.Gills dark brown to black.

Stem: Stem is 2" - 5" yellow mixed with red and brown.Has a woody appearance . Ring pneumonia stem is yellow.
Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc.

Cap: Yellow with dots or scales of brown. 1" - 4" across and flat.
Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.

Spore print color: No spore print as of yet but will post asap.
Very important!

Bruising: Bruises red on stem
Color that the mushroom bruises, if any.

Other information: Has a very bitter taste, i chewed on a small piece and spit it out.
Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

If the mushrooms you're referring to are the pictures in your gallery of the ones growing on the wood I think they are Psathyrella.
