Become a deadly combat master with mighty physique, one day at a time Samurai training routine
    #19025304 - 10/24/13 12:07 PM (10 years, 3 months ago)

:samurai:

I am training to become a "Samurai". In order to join the "Samurai" order one must complete an intense program of physical and martial training.

In order to achieve this I will do the following prescribed special series of intense training videos for combat readiness, available free online. I will be doing 1-2 workouts a day with two warmup workouts before each main workout (3-4 videos a day total) alternating, with one break day a week (6-12 workouts a week plus warmups).

If you also wish to become "Samurai", a deadly combat master with a mighty physique I invite you to join me on this program. Do the following workouts in the following order. I will post additional days as I do them. In addition to the workouts eat a high calorie, high protein, nutrition rich, healthy meals and eat lots to meet the increased demand of this training.

So each day will consist of first two warm up workouts in a row, then 1-2 combat workouts immediately after.

Alternatively you could do two warm ups and one combat workout in the morning and then two warm ups and one combat workout in the evening.

You should take one day of rest a week minimum (total rest except stretching).

All you need is two pairs of dumbells, one light and one heavy, however if you dont have them you can still do all the workouts and get great benefits without them.

WARNING: THIS IS A VERY INTENSE WORKOUT PROGRAM AND COULD BE DANGEROUS.

take rests when needed, drink plenty of water, and do not over do it! If you are not in shape enough for this try his seniors and low impact workouts first!

Watch the whole videos the first time to get the instructions, but when you do it again another day skip to the part where the actual training starts.

Day 1:

Warmup1

Warmup2

Combat1 (MMA)

Combat 2 (kickboxing)

Ok now I am going to do this workout and then post the next one, so if you want you can follow along.

If you eat right and follow this routine with me you will get in insane shape with a focus on combat readiness.

I recommend a protien powder and creatine HCL to help you in your training.

Have fun!

:ninja:

REPEAT: THESE WORKOUTS ARE INTENSE.

I myself broke a foot doing them in the past so be careful and wear good footwear!

I will be adding additional days of the Samurai training program as I go.

:samurai:

For someone to master combat from educational videos online... Please find an instructor for whichever martial art it is you want to learn. The whole average joe teaching himself mma usually does not work out when it comes time to use it. Atleast so you can learn proper form and technique. Have a sparring partner. Working with someone else who knows the art will teach you so much more than any video.

Now what I'm curious about, do you get to learn armed combat with swords?

Yes all Samurai must have two swords, the Katana or longsword and the Wakizashi or short sword. I have both and I do train with them very rarely but I need to master unarmed combat first.

And yes its essential to go to a class and take actual instruction but doing these videos will get you in amazing fighting shape and give some technique. Its also free and can be done whenever and wherever you want, which is great.

Thats the great things, these videos are free! I highly recommend trying them while you look for a good class, and continue taking them in addition to your class.

I would like to study lots of things. If it weren't for having to work for a living, I probably would study those as well. I find my life really only grants me enough time to pour my efforts into one art. Aikido is amazing.

I believe that cardio kickboxing video will make you a very good samurai.

Do you know of any videos that will transform me into a medieval European knight?

How do you like judo? Always been interested in it.

Most of a background I have is laying people out running full speed and wrestling /: going to be doing jui jitsu with my father kind of a bonding thing/ whoop his ass into shape again. Then after once I'm waaay more disciplined and have better control of my anger Krav maga

I absolutely love Judo. I love it.

Its very practical and useful for self-defense as well, but you need to train in other martial arts also (no striking in Judo).

And man it is a lot of fun! I used to compete and beat a black belt and a brown belt when I was only a green belt.

I also fought the provincial chamption and managed to stay on my feet for about twenty seconds before

he took me out.

Judo is very cool. My current sensei is also a master in Judo and I can see how he incorporates it into the ways he teaches Aikido.

Most of you guys are probably younger than me. One thing I've found about judo over the years is that most people I've known who have praticed judo end up having injuries as a result of their training. I'm in my later 30's and need to treat my body more gently than that if I want it to last and be happy. That's what I really appreciate about Aikido is that it teaches many of the same principles, but in a non competitive way that is actually very GOOD for the body if practiced and taught properly.

For me it is more of a personal challenge and a way of polishing myself more than something for self defense. If I wanted to learn true self defense, I would study MMA, but I'm looking more for enrichment of my life and satisfaction. Aikido provides me with those things very well. Also "dabbling" can make for a good fighter, but at the end of my life, I will have progressed much further along my path than anyone who studies all these arts will ever hope to.

Yes, I actually stopped doing Judo because I was already getting back injuries and I learned almost all long term Judo and Jujitsu practicioners get bad backs so I switched to yoga and other martial arts.
