Gypsum is added BEFORE colinization. Usually with grains but sometimes in BRF cakes too. There is no benefit to adding it AFTER the cake is done eating.

As far as I know, gypsum adds sulfure and calcium to the mix. And like any other nutrient added to dunking water, it is a waste.  People have tried it anyway disregarding the people telling them not to... they later report it was in fact a waste and no difference was made. To answer your question, yes.
