Amanita muscaria: Worth it?

So I've had no luck hunting for psilocybin-containing actives, but around here, Amanita muscaria is quite abundant. I recently came across a patch with a couple of mature caps (large, maybe 4-6 inches in diameter). I took one cap from a large mushroom and split it into fourths. So now I have some fresh Amanita muscaria sitting around. I've put it somewhere dark and dry in hopes that it will lose some moisture, but I don't expect it to become a "dried" mushroom.
My question is regarding the preparation of the mushroom and proper dosage of fresh amanita. There is a good amount of information on dried amanita dosage/preparation, but I see very little concerning fresh Amanita muscaria. I do not want to oven-heat the cap, so my best bet is to prepare a tea (the desired alkaloids are water soluble). It seems that a single compound, ibotenic acid, is responsible for many of the adverse effects felt by those who take Amanita muscaria.
I found an interesting article "Ibotenic Acid Decarboxylation to Muscimol: Dramatic Solvent and Radiolytic Rate Acceleration" in which room-temp DMSO was used to decarboxylate ibotenic acid. It just so happens that I have half a liter of DMSO intended for solvent purposes lying around. My plan is to stir chopped up mushrooms in 25-50 ml room temperature water with ~2 ml DMSO. Then I want to rapidly raise the water to boiling and maintain for thirty or so minutes until the volume is decreased significantly. The resulting material will be strained and consumed.
Does this plan sound feasible? Furthermore, what sort of effects can be expected from this species? If I am to understand correctly, the primary active component is muscimol, a non-selective GABA-A ionotropic receptor agonist. So I think that the effects will largely involve intoxication. Opinions?

I don't have an oven or a toaster that functions currently, nor do I have a desiccator. I have a hot plate, some lab glassware and related materials, however.

"To one large (6"; not weighed) cap of red A. muscaria var. flavivovolta, add enough water to immerse the cap broken into several pieces. In retrospect, storing the caps for three days was probably not a good idea, especially doing so without a desiccating agent. Add approximately two to five grams of table salt to the water. Now crush the cap into a sludge. Place this sludge in a microwave and heat for one minute. A white, frothy material should begin to form on the surface. Upon recovering the sludge, filter it (I recovered about sixty milliliters, but I had lost a lot of my broth) using a strainer and a coffee filter. Begin heating this on a hot plate. As the water begins to warm up, add two milliliters of dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO). Bring the mixture to a boil and hold at boiling until the volume is decreased by ~30-40% (took me around 45 minutes). The mixture will smell foul, and I suggest not smelling it. Upon completion, set the mixture aside to cool. It should be somewhat gelatinous and rather opaque (a yellow color). Filter this through a strainer and a coffee filter. Your crude "broth" extract is now ready. If one were to consume this broth, it would taste not all too bad, somewhat like meaty mushroom, but there is an unpleasant aftertaste."
That is the protocol I wrote for this. Now, I lost a whole bunch of my broth, because I used a drinking glass to do the microwave-heating, and the juice spilled down the sides of the glass upon pouring, but I did get around 50 ml of broth.
I drank it and did not have any significant nausea. The effects were mild, borderline placebo, but there was definite sedation, and my dreams were particularly vivid. I noted some unusually pronounced CEVs as well.
