Quick question: What gets done with empty syringe?

Hi, wondered what readers recommend? I ask because my wife uses a daily injection syringe for her neurological condition (MS) so we collect this huge canister (this special type of "needle container") of these syringes and then they have to get taken to a special facility. So I'm aware that you cannot simply toss a used syringe into the garbage.
I ordered, and promptly received, a spore syringe; wondered what everyone else does.
No, I do not think I can toss the spore syringe into the MS interferon injection syringe canister.
Thanks, everyone! Appreciate any helpful "points" (pun intended)

Special disposal of needles really only applies to needles with potential bio-hazards like blood. Just throw it away but in a way that people can't easily stick themselves accidentally.

You can throw it out. The main reason needles used for injecting humans cannot be thrown away in regular trash is the potential for spread of disease. Used needles are usually considered a bio hazard. This does not apply to the spore syringe since you are hopefully not injecting the spores into your body. That being said it may be wise to wrap the needle itself in something to reduce the stabbing hazard it may pose to trash workers.

Remove the needle and put the cap on it then wrap with a piece of ducktape so it can't open and stab anyone. Then just toss into normal trash.

Tattoo artists dispose of their needles in a sharps container, the red one. You can buy them at unimaxsupply

Use it for your heroin habit. You can boil the syringe to sterilize it and just buy disposable needles now instead of getting the U-100 insulin syringes from the needle exchanges. You'll save so much cash!
Or you could save it for when you start making your own spore and liquid culture syringes.
