Music suggestions?

I have a bad habit of listening to songs I like to death so I need a lot of new music to listen to, and most people on threads in here post weird hippie music which i'm not really that into. i'm just gonna list a lot of bands/musicians i like and if you like a lot of the ones I do then tell me some others you like that i didn't list. i think that's a good way to do it..
in no particular order..
the beatles - billy joel - billy squier - beastie boys - bad company
- bon over - boston - springtsteen - cage the elephant - the church
- the cranberries - CCR - duo - the eagles -ELO
- elton john - elvis - Fleetwood Mac - foo fighters - genesis
- george michael - the goo goo dolls - Hendrix - Jonny lang - justin beiber
- kansas - kings of leon - led zeppelin - Live - madonna
- maroon 5 - men at work - metallica - michael jackson - modest mouse
- nirvana - the offspring - pearl jam - phoenix - pink floyd
- RHCP - rise gainst - rolling stones - smashing pumpkins - stone temple pilots
- styx - toadies - tom petty - U2 - jason becker
- whitesnake - the xx - black sabboth - queen - the police
- alice in chains - empire of the sun - def leppard - citizen - morphine
- audioslave - jeff buckley - bob seger - steve miller band - dire straits
- REM - van halen - louis armstrong - the clash - blue oyster cult
- the doors - gorillaz - buckethead - weezer - blondie
- TSO - GNR - iron and wine - stealers wheel - finntroll
- billy idol - scorpions - joan jett - bob dylan - van morrison
- reo speedwagon - foreigner - steve vai - stevie ray vaughan - triumph
- heart - pat benatar - joe satriani - the who - journey
- santana - the black crowes - don henley - motley crue - the outfield
- phil collins - no doubt -
i tried to make it easy to read
as you can see i like a lot of the big ones that went mainstream.. they're popular for a reason THEY'RE SO DAMN GOOD

Maroon 5 is gross but I TOTALLY FORGIVE YOU because you have both Joe Satriani & buckethead!
I have some you can add:
Alt-J Ween metric Edward Sharpe & the magnetic zeros
Ever hear Tame Impala ?? go do that! Robert Delong covers a tame impala song called "feels like we only go backwards" that makes my ear pussies wet....

Yeah its all good man. and I didn't read the op carefully enough anyhoo. Psychedelic and hippy stuff aren't always the same man. That, plus anything can be psychedelic in the right mindset. even the sound of your piss hitting the toilet.
That video is ballin.

this album has worked its way back into my playlist after the twenty years since i first bought it. one of the first cd's i owned actually. and it's still fucking amazing.

i've been digging on some talking heads lately, especially these two albums.

you can't go wrong with this album either.

all of those go well with drugs, but all great music does imo.

Ha ha. Oh, the memories of downloading random songs of theirs on Napster.
OP, I've seen some fantastic suggestions thus far. I'm still getting into Tame Impala myself. I nearly came the first time I heard Mind Mischief.
You listed Jeff Buckley! I don't know anybody else who even knows who he is. If you enjoy Jeff's music, I would suggest listening to Cocteau Twins. He had a very special relationship with Liz Fraser, the singer. She was in love with him, but then again, who wasn't? Here's one of my favorites from them. To me, this is as close as a group has gotten to composing a song that sounds like what it's like to fall in love.

Another Twins fan? Awesome!!
I've read about that biopic. I'm not so sure I'd want to see it, though. Only James Franco could play Jeff, me thinks.

Actually, I think there might be. Mary Guibert, his mother, was working closely with someone to make a definitive Jeff biopic. It might still be stuck in pre-production, though. I know Patricia Arquette would be playing Mary.
Everything But the Girl, yeah I know them. Tracey Thorn has an incredible voice, very soulful. She did a Smiths duet with Jeff at Glastonbury!

There are some good bands in OP's list, but honestly I'm a fan of maybe 1/3 to half of those listed. Try these out:
Pavement Yo La Tengo The Replacements Boris Television Ty Segall (my favorite new artist; somewhat psych but mostly just hard-riffing fuzzed out garage rock) Kurt Vile The Brian Jonestown Massacre (just go listen to the track "Wisdom" and see the light already) Dinosaur Jr. Grandaddy Pixies (I didn't see them on your list. Was that a mistake? Have you heard Trompe Le Monde? Sweet Jesus you need to if you haven't. No excuse!) Guided By Voices (you'll probably hate them but what the hell )
you should definitely like at least a few of those bands, I think.

Oh, I am sure it was. Jeff even did an MC5 cover, too. Kick Out the Jams, motherfuckers.
Yo La Tengo, oh wow. I remember listening to them so much as a teenager. The first time I heard them was on the soundtrack to I Shot Andy Warhol. They even made a small appearance in the film, if my memory serves me.
I'm not familiar with Lamb or Quadron, but I will definitely check them out. Any song suggestions, akira?

sure, um, from Lamb, i'd check out Here, Cotton Wool, All in Your Hands.
from Quadron, just check out anything... she only has two albums out, from just recently... it's all pretty damn good, new, and fresh.
Kick out the Jams, mother fuckers is right! that line will forever go down in history.

I mostly put beiber as a joke, I didn't think anyone was actually gonna go through the list I didn't have high hopes for this thread. But you guys gave me lots of music THANKS. I'm gonna go through all of them today since I don't have class:yes nod:
I do like beibers acoustic work though, he's definitely not talentless.
I agree that if it sounds good it is good, i just can't connect to most of the hippie music that people post on here
thanks again guys

Try this, I noticed ppl were talking about Buckley and for some reason this song always comes to mind when talking about him.
Electric Prunes - Holy Are You
The rest of that album isn't as good, but this song definetly works
