Was walking back to my dorm from class, and along the path that goes through this small wooded area, that everyone walks through everyday, hundreds of student, I noticed something to my right...
I took one, went to my room and put it on some paper to take a print. but within ten minutes it had that unmistakeable blue bruising. I went back and picked the whole patch.
They are very immature, but the fact they were so out in the open and completely obvious to anyone walking past, I didn't want to chance someone else getting their first. Very sad...
Here are some pics...
The first one I grabbed, you can sort of see the blue tinge.
Sadly, I didn't get a pick of em before I began drying em, I had no idea they;d lose their caramel color within an hour of the fan.

Probably 15-20 pins that I didn't touch, friend gave me the idea to cover em up with leaves in the mean time, shoulda done that with these, but oh well:(

The color loss is due to its hygrophanous nature.
Completely normal.
They will do that in a day with no moisture weather or not you pic them.
Keep them in front of that fan.
Or eat them.

Yup, right up in B.C.
Uhh... Well now I know to always cover them up with leaves if they are in an obvious spot. which I just did for the pins!! Hope I don't have bad mushroom karma now...
Yeah, that discoloration threw me off, I feel like I may have passed up patches that had that discoloration now that I think of it, maybe not.
But nowI know the cats out of the bag and gonna go on an actual hunt this weekend!
