Car as a status object

Many disagree and I do to , yet recently in a facebook post me and some people got talking about cars and mine is the fastest (we were talking about racing) and people thought my car was cool and commented on how it would "sick" it was and no one even tried to say they could beat my car unlike everyone else
It made me feel good and I didnt know most people but one , and based on this conversation if it happened in public I think that they would totally wanna be friends
Idk it made me happy lol
Clarification:1995 Eagle Talon TSI (turbo AWD) added exhaust( I love IT cause its deep and low and quite I dont sound like a rice burner ),Shocks and stuts , New larger low profile wheels . . . . . . . I need a life

Yep , my city is pretty broke all around with the exception of retired people with baller cars and university students who have there life for free and the couple of them I know have normal cars like carollas altimas civics however newer
Dont get me wrong I wish I hung out with richer people with cars who I didnt have to drive around to hang out with them

I got a brand new refrigerator. It's a Maytag MSB27C2XAM.
Stainless steel, 27 cubic feet, LED lighting, spill proof shelves on both sides. In door ice making, produces crushed and cubed ice (~60 cubes/24 hours), in-line water filtration, digital thermostat, and "super cool mode".
I don't know anybody with a better refrigerator than me.

About 180 Im no pro on upgrading cars but from what I do know I think that the best way to gain more power aside from small HP jumps is a new engine but Id have to do a ton of research

nah, you can make power without a new motor.
a simple rebuild will suffice.. up the boost. turbo timers, methanol injection.
tons of stuff to do. but if you really are going to go the route of making all wheel drive burnouts i suggest making everything tip top first. brakes steering etc. then go for the power.
going fast doesnt mean shit if you cant stop.

True The only reason I want a new engine If Im going to do this is so that I dont have to stress my current engine to put out that much power , but ill be doing all the non engine stuff first and will prolly be satisfied by that

yeah, if you are hellbent on a new motor.. get the block, get the internals all the new aftermarket pipping for the turbo and slowly build while doing the suspension/brake/steering upgrades on your already running motor.
that way your not down a vehicle but for the weekend when you stab the new motor in.
also, think about what your goals are and if you are going to need a new trans or not.

thats the whole point of having fast cars man.
gotta build a relationship with them.. which means... building/running/breaking/fixing them.
cause if you do anything to a new car which is exactly want you want and you go out and mod it, guess what, that warranty that you are paying for is one foot out the door.

By status I will assume you mean the price of the car (which would mean the wealth of the owner)
I don't know enough about cars to know how much they are worth. I hate cars in general, so it's not something I tend to notice much
