found on the bank of a little creek, moss growing around it, but it might have been growing from the dirt...not 100%. and sorry for the picture quality, i swear, i can do better... i was literally ankle deep in freezing cold creek water trying to hold back brush and fend of wasps while not dropping my camera .... sorry..hollow stem, no print but it looks like their are black spores going down the stipe?? thanks for the looks see em? lol

 thanks again!

Lacrymaria was split out of Psathyrella. I still don't understand the criteria for Lac's. Especially what separates the species velutina from lacrymabunda.

I think spore ornamentation separates them. The spores look cool under a scope.

I wouldn't be surprised if they shared a similar habitat to ovoids... I use Lac's as indication that I'm in the right areas to support P. caerulescens growth.

i always look around creeks and flowing water in hopes of finding some random ovoids, probably just is all...but i have searched that little forest hundreds of time for weilii...but its an old growth forest.... i cant really find any new growth around this old ass city lol

I just googled this. Its made by a company called Edu. I'm totally getting one. Seems like it'd be great for the field. Its less than 2 lbs., battery powered.

That's ironic. I might be moving in marchish as well. Kinda depends on what I want to do when I grow up. Ill either stay here in the relative area; probably head farther east, to Athens. Or, I'm going back to the coast.

Yeah it says it comes with slides, vials, petri dish, tweezers, magnifying glass, maybe something else I forget. Totally worth 13 bucks even if its not anything super effective, it should still get you around. I feel like a lot of the knack of microscopy in mycology is in slicing the gill fragments.
