Just for shits & giggles, I'll add...
When I'm hunting mushrooms in the woods on the trails, knowing homeless people are living just yards away out of sight... I get so jumpy at the sound of LEAVES falling, trees creaking, animals scurrying.

Haha me too.
A story
At the group foray I hosted this spring, we went to 1000 acres park. Just outside of Portland to the east. The delta of the Sandy river.
About 100 of those acres are homeless camps. It is kind of like a refugee camp. There are televisions, vacuums, old stereos, masses of random garbage and plastics.
I mean it goes on forever. The list of items as well as its area coverage.
Pretty crazy. My first ever group event I posted and hosted and I was walking moms and their kids through this place. It was a different experience. And we found 2 morels.
The first morel was just off a path in some black berries lookin all good.
Nobody was worried about their safety save from the unseen rusty coil of a mattress one might happen to break the skin of an unprotected ankle.
Luckily nobody had any such experience.
There was one moment when we, the 5 of us who stayed after an hour or so, were taken aback.
We were standing and talking about what direction we were to take from where we were. We were standing relatively close to a group of tents. About 80 feet away. You cannot help but be about that close to a tent at any given time in this area of the park.
As we were chatting we were startled by the sight and sound of a woman bursting from the furthest tent away from us half naked.
She was in under wear and a small tank top. Before you go getting all internet creepy about it let me tell you that she was not something one thinks of when they imagine a beautiful woman. Im just sayin.
She was actually kind of scary. Could have been the circumstances.
She was about 50, very thin. Looks like she drinks a lot.
Anyway, she bursts out of the tent, half naked, with a cigarette in here hand, screaming in here cigarette ravaged voice, "Hey what the hell are you doin over here?!"
We are all pale faced and silent gawking with a half fear, half awe look to our faces. At least thats how it felt.
She stops immediately after her inquiry and promptly returns the opened mouth look we were giving her.
It was obvious she thought we were someone else.
She immediately apologized. But she was still scary.
We walked off reminiscing the incident and then I found the second morel.
The End.
Oh wait no, we went and got burgers at Slow Burger.
The End.

I must keep reminding myself of this. I must keep reminding myself of this. I must keep reminding myself of this. I must keep reminding myself of this.

agreed in all facets, I just hold a lot of tolerance for people that eschew all common conventions, particularly those that have a grasp on social norms and continue onward w/o judgment.
I see that you hold tolerance and are also a bit of a protective thing going on.
That's cool. That first comment you replied to in all fairness to you, was a bit of a free flow thought process where I at first say something and then realize the implications and correct.
So the part where I was being insensitive was there but not intentionally. That is why I tried to course correct my words.
If you re-read it I think you will agree.

Ok, if this is inappropriate here, then I apologize in advance. Im new to WA and have a question. We had our first heavy frost last night, what can I expect? Is our season dead?

Thank you. Was worried that first heavy frost didn't come till dec and thus the end of the season. Didn't know if this was an early thing or seasonal.

In need of some identification for a few common mushrooms found in the forest by our house. All of these were located in a mainly moss/dead wood covered woods with pine, oak and a few other hard woods. The forest has a lot of moss, leaf and fern covered grounds as well.
Specimen #1:

INFO: Found on ground covered with moss and dead wood. Very orange and pine smelling.
Specimen #2:

INFO: Found scattered about in similar places as the above.
Specimen #3:

INFO: Found in groups off of a trail similar to above. Slightly more orange than picture suggests with little brown hairs? on top.
Specimen #4

INFO: Tiny white nipple capped mushies. Found under leafs in moss usually.
Specimen #5

INFO: Found everywhere on ground in forest. Very white and I'm pretty sure this isn't anything i'm looking for but wanted to make sure.
Specimen #6

INFO: Grows right out of trees. Very orange with bright orange sporing as well. Looks remarkably similar to G. ventricosus or G. junonius/spectabilis
Specimen #7
INFO: Last Photo is just a patch of something I spotted on my way to class in the grass next to a building... don't have any better photos but at a second look at this photo things looked pretty promising. Maybe someone can see what these are with just this, either way thanks for the help.

Gymnopilus luteus Active? Or non-active look-alike [Re: Eligilbert12]

Thought I'd take a few more photo's of these Gymnopilus... I searched around photos of several active/nonactive subspecies and it is very difficult for me to pinpoint which these are. It looks like multiple ones looking at some photos, and in others not so much.
Can you tell from these below if this is the active species of Gymnopilus or not. Also would it be safe to consume. haha... thanks again for all the help.
