I think the species that fits best in its perticular environment is the best candidate.
I think azures are safe and well suited. They have a different niche than cyans. Cyans, allenii and ovoids will be likely competitors.
But really does anybody truly know the first origin of these species for sure? How would you know for sure that is where they came from first. I'm sure you can follow that train of thought for awhile.

I don't think ovioids are going to wipe out cyans. That would be a best case scenario when you think of all the non-active species cyans already have to compete with.
I should take pictures of these cyans that are coming up in the middle of a huge Armarillia, if they can trade punches with them, they can hold their own against ovioids (which aren't going to take over imho.)
I'm going to be starting patches of cyans, azzies and ovioids in my yard on top of the current cyans. It would be real fun to do a mixed bin of all three and see who dominates. No control or anything, just let them go for fun.
I'm glad you brought this up Ganzig, it's been on a loop in my mind and maybe talking about it will get rid of it.

Since this is the "PNW Fall Discussion" thread and "Actives" seem to be the topic... I have a story to share.
I work at an organic grocery co-op. A couple weeks ago a beautiful girl comes in asking if we sell a mushroom knife. I said "If we did, I'd have it in a heartbeat because I'm obsessed with mushroom hunting!" and her eyes light up and she says "me too, I'm a member of the mycological society". I said "me too!". She says "I just went mushroom hunting today". I said "ME TOO!"
You get the idea. So after chatting awhile and sharing photos on our phones with each other, there was that awkward moment where I should have "manned up" and asked her to hang out or go on a foray together. Well, I'm a 29 year old guy who's still afraid of girls so that didn't happen. She told me her name and where she lives (since we were talking about mushrooms in our neighborhood). She left. A couple days later, I found her on Facebook and we were commenting on each others photos.
She came into the store again 2 nights ago and said "hey mushroom man" and we chatted for a bit. Last night on Facebook she said something about the term "entheogen". I jokingly asked in psychoactive mushrooms were on her mind. She replied saying she's been thinking seriously about them for about a year now. I told her my experience with them and how they literally helped me change my life for the better.
Long story short... she asked me to take her out and teach her how to identify psychoactive mushrooms! SCORE!

Pretty sure this is pelliculosa. I've read they are very weak, but there's not much more information out there. I've found about 1,000 more where I found this one. How many grams of these are you suppose to take dried for an experience 100+? Is it even worth picking that many?

Make a spore print. It kind of looks like a galerina. Sorry I cannot answer your question.
What was the habitat?

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
