I want to see picture of strain isolated grows vs multispore 1

I have tried looking for grows from multispore vs isolated strains but have not seen anything. Of course I have seen many multispore grows but if any of you have pictures of grows using agar, I would really like to see them. Also, do you who use agar think it is worth it? I am about to start the second flush on my first grow and I'm really interested in strain isolation and getting away from multispore inoculation.

"Getting away from multispore" is, for me, the first part of the grow. I don't waste expanding something unknown when a little culturing can be selective. Seriously only like 1 out of 1000 (not a serious stat) genes are worth even testing to compare to each other. Cloning vastly reduces culture work while bringing a wider smile with test results. With certain culturing methods you can even yield while you sort-out and pick genes. I'm currently building a sweet thread about this now that will be posted within a few days!
I'll grab a few multi-spore and several isolate grow pics from my photos, for fun...

ISOLATES (An isolate doesn't mean a good isolate, and most of my photos so far are of so-so clones, fyi) Rows are same isolate.

that is an amazing difference. i have never grown one single mushroom but i am starting off with agar right now and am going to try and isolate before i ever start my jars. im going to do a monotub and see if i can get these double digit ounces i keep reading about. im talking amazon rainforest canopy.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't it take a few generations on agar to isolate a strain by mycelium transfer? And wouldn't a better method be to grow out a multispore flush, select some of the best fruits, and take a tissue culture from that, for agar transfer, and therefore an instant isolate?

One MS mushroom could contain multiple sub-strains of genetics, so you would need a couple transfers anyway. But I like to grow spores on agar, transfer to grain, use that grain to make more jars, grow a tub, then pick the one I like, then clone that to agar a few times to get an isolate.
That way you know you have a fruiting strain before you isolate

Wrong on both counts. It takes a few transfers, not generations to isolate strains.
Cloning is never better than isolation due to the increased number of cell divisions which have already occurred. RR

Well, earlier people were saying my substrate was too wet! And I have heard of people not even dunking for the next flush and sometimes only misting and it turns out really well for them. Though my biggest pin currently got wider in the middle but now it's growing thinner at the base again. Silly little pin. What is that fella' doin'?
Though if i'm not mistaking, light also helps a lot with the density of the fruits. Good thing i've got that down. :P

Unless your culturing method allows a clone with just a single dish's worth of radial expansion...

Here is my work with multi spore cultures verses cloned cultures. The species experimented with is Psilocybe makarorae http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18170098/page/6
