Are eye doctors scamming us?

I think the eye doctor prescribes you just slightly above your actual eye prescription in order to lower your eyes strength and have you come back in another year or two and need more glasses and another eye exam. I've been a victim of this "scam" (which may or may not be real , but I don't doubt it exists in crooked eye doctors just like any other practice ) since a very young age so it's too late for me now. My vision is much worse than a man in his twenties should be. I've decided to never go for an eye exam again , unless I actually notice I'm having difficulty seeing , and even then just telling them the clearest lens is the one actually before the one that is. If I keep going in for new glasses , I can easily see myself being almost completely blind within the next ten years. I'm pretty damn close already. Can't see anything clearly past 6 inches from my face at 25 years old??? No way you can possibly tell me it's from tv because I don't watch tv and have only recently started using computers regularly in the last couple years. It only makes sense to me that this is what's happening. Everyone I know who got laser surgery was right back to having bad vision within five to ten years as well. My family has very strong genetics , my father was a marine and his before that and I was actually birthed on a military base so my father was at his peak. I have never gotten truly sick except for my mother intentionally exposing me to chicken pocks as a child , and I have been exposed to the dirtiest shit holes and lived on the filthiest ny streets for years with no health problems ever , and rarely even get a cold , so I doubt it's just my body.

It's obviously not a "scam" because YOU are the one that determines what the prescription strength will be.
The reason your eyes keep changing every 2 years or so, is because the surface structure of your eyes is constantly changing. This is why laser surgery also needs to be done every 5 years and its effects aren't permanent. How much your eyes change is dependent on genetics. My vision isn't terrible, only -2.25, but my sister's is about 3 times worse than mine. I've been wearing glasses longer than her, since 5th grade.
It is true however, that wearing glasses all the time will make your eyes "used" to the vision, and your vision will most likely get worse. The way to overcome this is by stopping wearing glasses, and practicing by looking far off into the distance all the time. Supposedly my father claims this is how he cured his bad vision... he tried to read signs that were very far away all the time and never wore his glasses. Now he only needs glasses when he reads.

I dont think that could actually change the eye for the better.
I could see an improvement though, since it is like training the brain to make better sense of the fuzzy image.
So instead of the eye's signal becoming clearer, the brain just gets better at processing the fuzzy signal.
but its just a hypothesis.
