Mushroom identification for my findings
    #19013033 - 10/22/13 10:52 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

alright, first off i live in North Florida close to hte alabama line. it just got done raining (not much rain) but i have found some mushrooms that popped up in my backyard. a week ago i found the same looking mushrooms, i tested bleeding and bruising on them but found no luck in getting them to bruise. but the ones i ofund today bruise black on the stalk and when you break hte cap, where the injuries are they instantly turn a dark beautiful blue. i have done cubes and know that those turn blue no matter what, these mushrooms have yellow porous like gills. brown and orangish brown on the stalk. and feel like a thin thin powder coating on the cap. anyone haver any ideas? i will have pictures in a couple of minutes.

Dude, do you bother to even read about how this site works?  You're in the fucking philosophy forum.  I fear for the youth of today.

I give Icelander's reply 7/10, it was slightly aggressive yet this is often what makes the opening poster more aware but it could be formulated more maturely. What Icelander mainly lack is a link to the correct forum in his post.

Post in this forum Mid-Day-Tripper: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/postlist.php/Board/3

The question you need to ask yourself Mid-Day-Tripper is what your post has to do with Philosophy, Sociology & Psychology? At least in my opinion.

I would certainly apologize for writing in the wrong forum and thereafter thank the one helping me, it seems like normal manners to me. If you ask someone on the street whether they know the direction to X but they're not sure, then you figure it out, would you not say thank you for your time and effort?

Not sure what you mean here?

If Z is in a healthy discussion with K, then P say's "we're all friends" directed to Z wouldn't Z feel as if Z is the aggressor in a growing aggressive discussion?

You must be referring to PZ Meyers.

Paul Zachary "PZ" Myers (born March 9, 1957) is an American scientist and associate professor of biology at the University of Minnesota Morris (UMM).[1] He is founder and co-author of the Pharyngula science blog, hosted on both the Science Blogs and Freethought Blogs networks. He currently works with zebrafish in the field of evolutionary developmental biology and cultivates an interest in cephalopods.

He is an outspoken critic of intelligent design (ID) and the creationist movement, and is active in the American creation–evolution controversy. He is widely regarded as a confrontationalist.[2]

I agree with this, but there's no reason to laugh at it, it happens every second twenty four seven in society. This is an issue that needs to be seriously addressed IMO.

As MadDog cannot tell a philosophy forum from a fungus forum, I have a bad feeling about his ability to distinguish edible from poisonous mushrooms.

I understand but do you find it funny when it occurs in real life, directed towards you? Say that you help someone out receiving no respectful manners in return just a drooling face.

Ok i now think i understand what you mean about the issue that needs addressing which is manners right?

I cant really say whether i would find it funny or not IRL. I could see it as a slight and sign of disrespect at the time and get worked up over it or i could laugh it off , depends on the situation really.

Laughing it off feels better no doubt. In the past when my pride was considerably larger such perceived slights would almost always result in direct confrontation and violence if proper response was not given. Some real monkey shit.

What is the most humane option, if everyone was respectful towards each other or laughing at each other?

I feel much more grounded when people say directly what they mean than simply laughing without me understanding why which makes me feel humiliated. Isn't respect for one another freedom and not some sort of laughing competition?

Then we get along just fine. I'm not the type to beat around the bush.

If your suggesting that I was laughing at you, I wasn't. I don't know what else to tell you, its not so much about laughing at someone rather than the overall situation of something.

It ain't no competition and its not a planned reaction either. One should be free to laugh when they find something funny. I find it disrespectful when someone wants me to repress my laughter , especially when its not directed at anyone in particular.

Come to think of it, I have actually stuck up for alot of people in the past that were bullied and got laughed at for no other reason than being different.

I knew you were not laughing at me but MDT instead, however is this the honest way to address the issue?

If the part you're laughing at don't understand what you're laughing at, is this the solution to the issue?

It becomes a competition based on the following:

Quote:

Withinity said:
Come to think of it, I have actually stuck up for alot of people in the past that were bullied and got laughed at for no other reason than being different.

If you get laughed at you're the loser, whether you acknowledge it or not the mentality is based on winning and losing.
