hi guys this is my first post on here. i've tried to answer the 'id request' template questions as best i can. total noob!! apologies if i have left anything out. my burning question is as you've probably already guessed!) is.... are these libs?? i have picked before, many years ago now with friends who knew what they were looking for. would really appreciate you lot taking a look with more educated eyes! thanks in advance....
Habitat: found on a local bowling green in derbyshire UK this morning..
Gills: dark brown/purplish?
Stem: ranging from around 2cm to 5-6cm? light in colour and quite thick also!
Cap: size ranging from a few mm to maybe 15mm?
Spore print color: Very important!
Bruising: didn't observe any bruising
Other information: i can only apologize for the poor quality of the pics. first time using my iphone 4's camera. i will take my dslr out with me next time lol! (lesson learnt there!!)

this pic shows a some what larger/mutated version of the same shrooms in the other pics. this one had a very twisted, almost sprial stem and had fallen over! hence the gill shot!!

All of your mushrooms are Psilocybe semilanceata.
Cool habitat!
Some of those pics could look really cool with a dslr and closed aperture / tripod so they are all in focus at once.

wow! thanks for the very quick responses!! now i'm excited i guess they like the ground on the bowling green because it is fertilized maybe? the green is surrounded on 3 sides by playing fields and i am yet to find any on them.... i agree about the shots too. i will take my tripod and nikon out in the morning weather permitting and attempt some better shots!
my next question is... if one was to pick these shrooms, is there a right or wrong way to pick? ie: should you break the stem leaving the root in the ground for future growth etc or does it really not matter? secondly, most of the examples there all looked fairly young still. is there an optimum time to harvest this type of shroom?
thanks again!

Since they are grass mushrooms you won't be disturbing the substrate much by just pulling them. You can plant the stem bases in your own lawn.
It is best to wait until they are fully mature. But if you wait too long the lawnmower will get them.

nice one rockafeller! the lawn/bowling green does look very well manicured, so i think i may go and have another look at them in the morning. i would be gutted if they were to fall victim to the mower man!!!!! would it be reasonable to assume that the same species would grow in the adjacent playing fields, even though i have not found any as yet? (at least not libs any way) these are the other types i have found in said fields today...

Those are a Mycena.
Why assume anything? It is certainly reasonable to check.
