Ladies opinions on dreads?
    #19012106 - 10/22/13 03:41 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

What are the ladies if the shroomery's opinions on the attractiveness of dreadlocks on guys? Assuming obviously that they are kept clean. I have dreadlocks and my girlfriend tells me that she loves them but I wonder about a more straight up physical attractiveness way if women tend to find them attractive.
Thanks for any input
Peace

Agreed they are gross imo  I see them and no matter what I think "unwashed".

Again just my opinion some people really seem to dig them though.

Just curious are you a black person? I ask because most blacks can pull it off. White guys it never looks right or fitting to me. I dunno.

I thought that might be the reaction haha. No I'm white and I find it funny how little people know about dreads and that they're always assumed to be dirty. While some people don't wash their dreads, most do as clean hair dreads better as it is less oily.  But thanks for the input none the less

I have dreads too, and my girlfriend loves them.  They're naturally formed dreads as well, so most people actually really like them.  In fact girls are always playing with them...

Natural dreads all the way! that's good to hear man  but yeah, in general I never get bad comments about them and girls seem to quite like them but I thought I'd ask on here anyway.

I had dreadlocks for three and a half years. It really pained me to cut em off but alas life goes on. I kinda missed having short hair but now I miss having dreads but at the same time I think I look more attractive without them because the hottest girls always stare at me now and before only security, police and white collar do gooders of society stared at me. Mine were also natural and clean.

White male by the way.

As long as they are well kept and suit the person's "look" then I think it can be attractive to me.

Don't dreads stink?

If that's the case, then I don't like 'em.

depends what the dude looks like. some can pull it off some cant.

i feel pretty neutral about it. i could be attracted to a guy with dreads but he has to have the face/body for it.

however i have yet to meet a good looking male with dreads lol.

No, that's one of those ignorant myths. Also "well kept dreads" are typically not natural dreads. Natural dreads have a few years of unkept grungy look to them until they come together and form those real nice tight round locks and look "well kept." Natural dreads are typically much healthier hair than 98% of other folks hair cause they typically only use all natural soaps without SLS and other chemicals that cause hair damage.

 except for the 'grungy' bit, I think messy/birds nest is more accurate  and they don't stink unless you don't wash them, but that's the same as any hair, but most people wash their dreads because then it dreads faster due to less oil.
