Coprinopsis lagopus, or a very similar species.
They are magical aesthetically, but they won't make you see colors.

It is a bad idea to eat any mushroom that you are not certain of the exact identification. Coprinopsis species role in the world is to cause really bad convulsions if you drink any alcohol with them or any alcohol within a few days. They contain coprine.

I wonder how many of them are actually C. lagopus? The one time I scoped them I came up with Coprinopsis scobicola.

I couldn't say. Without putting in the work, it's sort of just a 'field guide species' hole that much gets swept into, no?
At least I broke my scope back out of storage yesterday.

Yea, pretty much. And nice! I need to get back to scoping, just too many things to do and too much procrastination...
