The ones that I find that look like that turn to dust when I touch them.

I've pretty much come to grips with me not finding weilii...it really sucks, but it is what it is... I don't really go out looking for one thing anymore. I just try to go to a new spot and just wander. Pick out spots that I think would be good for mushroom growth...its helping me a lot. I went out today and I knew almost everything I found.... only three of four I didn't know. But I'm retarded and forgot my camera again so ill have to go back.... which reminds me! I found my first puffball today, then 15 minutes later, found my second! The first was a naked puffball (I went to keep it, all white in the middle, but the outside of it was slimy and a weird brownish orange color, so I tossed it) the second was a patch of studded puffballs (I think) they were tiny though! Smaller than a dime, so I left em.....also found a cortinarius, some sort of gymns that was horribly dried out, some pholiotas (spelling?), a TON of russulas. Pretty fun! And I found a pretty big swamp area, that made me kinda homesick lol

Florida boy got to see the swamp right on bro! Saweet congrats on the puffballs! The big one was prolly old people say they turn slimy brown when old. I found one like that a few weeks ago but it wasnt white inside like you said yours was, its said if all white inside its edible but I dont blame ya for throwin that one back Its like reading one of my posts. I see one of the places I get my style from here Cortinarius are pretty, Excuse the word pretty but damnit they are purdy! Like the lavender tones in em. In an artist so its evident that theres no prejudice of color in my mind. You spelled Pholiota right you lucky bastard findin Gymnopilus species! I hear ya on the just wander thing too. Im just getting a little obsessed with Gymnopilus lately. You know I as well as You know we are more concerned with fungi in general and occasionally enjoy a gourmet edible from the wild. Learning all this great information all while getting exercise and familiarizing ourselves with our surroundings, otherwise learning survival like Joe dirt said to the native American fireworks dude: YOU WIN TWICE BROTHER! Its the gift that keeps giving lmao. Anyhow im so interested in Gymnopilus due to images like this lmfao! http://www.mushroomexpert.com/images/smith/smith_gymnopilus_spectabilis_02.jpg Man what a find. Thats something to be proud of! Sure Gymnopilus spectabilis/junonius is active, but those are the coolest looking fucking mushrooms I have ever seen! I would stuff and mount those bad boys if I found them and lived where they are legal. Its not about gettin high. Its about finding a unicorn! Catching the grandpappy catfish! Survival of the fittest! Eye of the tiger tuning in to nature!
