Brown Hardy Mushroom

Habitat:
Found growing in clusters (attached to one another at the base) around a tree stump.

Gills:
Off white, attached

Stem:
2-3 in in length,1in or so diameter, brown becoming whiter at the top, thick, sturdy, solid stem.

Cap:
2 in diameter, brown becoming dark toward middle, tough texture,convex, cap has cracks on top which show white underneath.

Spore print color:
Awaiting results

Bruising:
No noticeable brusing.

Other information:
Slightly woody scent, nothing too notable.

Thanks for your reply! Are there any Armillaria that are worth harvesting?  If so will the spore print help with a positive id?

Yes, most Armillaria are good edibles, I'm not sure which species this is exactly. Spore print should be white.
