India, need ideas

So I'm really interested in moving to India and staying with a Hindu family for a decent amount of time. I want to learn the Hindi language and study the peoples connection to god/gods/spirituality/altered states of consciousness while I'm there.
I'm a young white male who only speaks English. I wouldn't mind working a lot during my stay.
Any ideas how I could get started? Also I can give more information just ask.

Though India isnt my choice... I would like to so something similar. Study other cultures more or less with photo journalism has always been an aspiration of mine.

Precisely my point brother!
I thrive for new experiences and scenery.
If you discover a way to realistic way to do that, you should definitely share the knowledge man.

I think about that often actually. Because I really do like helping people, and to travel would be awesome.
I dont know much about it though..
Do you know anything about it?

Peace corps requires that you have a credited higher education, which I do not.
