Five month old spore print looks weird

I've been keeping a spore print for about five months in a plastic baggie, out of sight, in a cool place, but without any desiccant. I believe I checked on it a month ago and didn't notice any problems, just that it was a little roughed up. It looked dry. Today after preparing jars, sterilizing water for the syringe and stuff, I go for the print and see that it's completely scrambled and wet from some greasy looking liquid inside the bag. The bag was sealed and I have no idea where the liquid came from. I used the print anyway since it was all I had, but has anyone heard of a print doing this? Hoping it's not contam. I kindly searched off before posting this, apologies if I missed the thread, thanks for the help.

That doesn't sound good. Wet/greasy doesn't spontaneously happen to prints something must have got in there. chances are it's going to be hard to get anything good from that print without using agar plates to isolate healthy growth now.

aye. i'm planning on going agar from here on out, I'm tired of the uncertainty and waste and it looks like i've got some shitty cobwebs in the jars now. I think one brf cake will survive contamination though (I used a proven syringe for 1 out of 5 of my jars). is it worth it to spawn a single cake to bulk? I don't mind waiting but I wonder if the yield will be worth the contamination risk.

So maybe it's not cobweb. This is nine days of growth, mostly done outside of my TiT, with room temp at about 70'f. Much faster than I was expecting. I guess that's why I guessed it was cobweb. Has that ropey myc look now though. Any opinions?

That does seem pretty quick from spores but it can happen. If you can take a clear up close photo of growth it might help

Word. My decent camera is charging, will add some better images asap.
Dunno how much it matters but I took a spore print off a heavy beauty of a cap, so i'm hoping that that selection is the cause of rapid growth not some f'n cobweb

damn, well if worst comes to worse, you can probably still throw them outside, b/c Fall still just started... They will probably grow outside fine.

Spore prints don't carry many growing traits like that only cloning does.

Thanks for all the feedback everyone. Here are the close-ups. I wish I could find a pic of cobweb inside of a jar to compare it to, but no luck with that. Looks like myc to me.
