New Autotub System- Start to Finish

I'm currently working on an automated system for controlling FAE, lighting, and RH for up to 7 monotubs. The hardware is easily capable of a dozen but there were space constraints to work around. The brain of the system consists of an arduino uno microcontroller and some surprisingly simple code controlling LED light strips, a microservo to press the on/off button of an ultrasonic humidifier (will elaborate on that later), and a fan (might add a second later on). I spawned some MS WBS into cpoo/verm/coir a few days ago so we'll see how the system works when it's crunch time, aka fruiting conditions. Tomorrow I'll post a pictorial of the set-up, parts list, costs, etc..
In the meantime, check this out:

From a few years ago. Lol I found a little mantis so I let him roam around like a dinosaur. I was pretty new at the time hence why mister mantis didn't have many obstacles to climb on in that particular tub.

Exactly. Anything he adds is going to ruin the performance.
To the OP, exactly what parameters do you think your processor can control? How is it going to sense substrate moisture content? Do you have an analog CO2 detector to control the fresh air exchange? We get at least two 'automated' tub threads per week, but in the decade I've been around here, nobody has pulled one off. The reason is that the basic monotub and shotgun work far better than anything with humidifiers, etc. RR

Electronics are for your GH. Monotubs are already self-automated by design.

I decided against a substrate moisture content sensor.
I wanted to challenge myself to improve upon something. I know that the monotub system is already pretty damn solid, so improving it will be an difficult and possibly futile challenge. Monotub air flow is, of course, passive. Injecting a tub with filtered and fully saturated air seems like it would be superior over a passive system. If it works, then neat, if it doesn't, well I had fun trying and learned a great deal about arduinos and electronics.

If the air is fully saturated all the time, this leaves no room for evaporation to take place, which is a main pinning trigger.
You want the RH in the tub to fluctuate.
