Yeah I've noticed that. Im use to power/ strength oriented sports so pardon my bias.
People just seem to enter crossfit expecting they'll put up impressive numbers and it just doesnt happen.

If you lift and supplement with crossfit good for you.
While I know this is not the point you're trying to make, I had to underline the fact that pizza and burgers don't necessarely equal '' shitty ''. Burgers and pizza can actually be pretty healthy is they are home made with wholesome ingredients. To me, a shitty diet is all about making poor nutritive choices. For example, you can cook the same meal, let's say sautéed vegetables and chicken in a wok. Now, it can be very healthy and nutritive if you get good organic veggies and access to healthy chickens or it can spell doom for you if you go for the opposite: GMO veggies with the type of chickens KFC uses in their fast food chains. It's all about choice. Same with pizza and burgers.
Also, fitness can also be reached and maintained with the idea of simply being fit and healthy. Living a long prosperous life by keeping your body active thus increasing the likelihood of longevity and reducing the risks of developping deseases. It's a far more realistic objective than trying to maintain a bodybuilder's physique all the way into your 50s, 60s and even 70s.

Huh? Crossfit people do lift though, in fact the term "cross fit" implies you do strength and conditioning. If you're telling me crossfit doesn't show good results then you're crazy dude. Whether the people you've met can bench high or not is irrelevant to that
Sure there are some who only do body weight exercises and shit, but you'd be surprised how strong you can get from that. It takes a lot of strength to do piston squats, 1 handed pullups, 1 handed pushups, handstand pushups, etc
Perfect example of results of true crossfit training: football players

As far as I know, P90X is an all over body toner type work-out. Lots of strength and conditioning etc while Insanity is mostly about cardio and lean muscle development. Two different beasts.
If you're hoping to build muscle with Insanity, then, yeah, you should go with Tapout XT instead. Probably should have mentioned that earlier. But Insanity is, well, Insane if you want to get great cardio while, also, developping a lean, muscular body. Insanitys work outs are far from shitty from the cardio standpoint, it's a blast and it's a top shelf challenge for anyone.

Care to elaborate? Because you can't be saying that it was too easy or anything like that

Yes but why not have that physique when your young and can easily maintain?
Last night my diet was icecream cookies pizza a burger and hash. Hash made it possible. Woke up with not a pound gained. No idea how.
I also have a friend who literally eats shit yet this kid has a six pack and puts up 3 hundred on bench. Shit = mcdonalds and russian bear mass gainer day in day out
Football is a horrible example of crossfit. I played for four years and am planning on ass coaching for My old team. Please.

it's all stagnant, and shit man. Who wants to sit in place doing cardio? I just didn't like it. I got a better workout going to the pool, or the track.

Football players don't run fast?
Not agile, able to switch left to right at a given moment?
Don't have endurance?

Football players are very strong, but they are also very conditioned. There are obviously some whose focus is more on strength (linebackers), but you're telling me its JUST = power lifting?
lol....

Ah well, I guess it all comes down to individual priorities. Plus, some people have miraculous metabolism but it doesn't mean that no weight gain is synonymous with a healthy, well functioning body. Especially as time goes on...

Thanks for taking the time to clarify. Still, to me Insanity represents a great time-saving alternative as well as a very efficient calorie burner. My hypothesis is that people who talk-shit about Insanity chose to do so in order to avoid admitting they found it too arduous Because it will kick your butt.
Off to bed folks.

A huge portion of it is power lifting and quick burst drills. Corners are usually smaller and fast as fuck. Crossfit does not create football players. From what I remember from my 3 adays morning was ALL agility. Hurdles, ladders, gassers, dots. Getting off the line with resistance (rope attached to another player and pulling opposite directions)
Afternoon was lifts, late after noon was actual scrimmage type practice. We were a 5A school (highest division in az) and made it to the championships multiple times.
At no point was crossfit a workout for us.

You just described being cross fit which is funny, mixing and matching endurance/conditioning and strength exercises. You're mixing up crossfit workouts with being crossfit. I am talking about BEING crossfit.
You seem to think you have to do crossfit workouts to be crossfit which isn't the case at all.
Being crossfit means you have the exceptional endurance while maintaining optimal strength which is what a lot of football players have, they are the more extreme cases of being crossfit.
I don't see how you're going to argue that football players don't have good endurance and exceptional strength because they do. They all have their focus on their role but they are all crossfit to a degree.

I have never heard of being "crossfit" only crossfit workouts. I see eing good at both endurance and strength as being FIT.
I consider football players extremely fit and still stick to the workouts we used when I played. Even the agility drills. Weighted ladders = the bees knees.
Why use the term crossfit? Wasn't aware of there being these two types of fit, endurance fit and power fit.
Automatically when I see "crossfit" I assume crossfit workouts. You know. Throwing weights around. Bad form. High repetition. Exact opposite of any football workout.
