I get odd flashbacks almost every time I listen to Tycho now. They're so calming.
I love Tycho, thanks for posting! I still haven't gotten the chance to trip to Tycho yet, but I plan on it. Dive is a fantastic album, too!

There's a Jazz/Fusion band from the 70s-80's called "Brand X". Their drummer was none other than Phil Collins from Genesis. This band was his musical outlet when Genesis wasn't on tour or recording. If you don't like Phil Collins - don't be put off. In his prime, he was an amazing drummer and percussionist. The music made by Brand X is mind blowing while tripping. Every song is a psychedelic journey, at least to me. Every time I trip or even microdose I make sure there's some Brand X to listen to. The music hits a certain spot and I can't help but grin when I'm getting into it.
Invest 7 minutes of your time - you might love this stuff.
This kind of music is especially good if you're a musician, or you prefer music made by groups of musicians rather than computer generated music.

Wow... I listened to this while song and was incredible impressed. I like Genesis, but I'm not too far into them... but this is so different and unique! Thanks for posting, definitely getting this album.

I've always loved listening to The Funeral from Band of Horses when I need to mellow out. It's so serene and peaceful

I must be the only person on the planet who doesn't like listening to music while tripping! LOL! Seriously, I'd be the guy in his own personal sensory deprivation chamber (if he had one). Like in one of those experiments at Harvard in the early-'60s. I just don't like the intrusion, the connection to anything that keeps me "here." I want to lose all ties -- or as many as possible. Just burrow into my own head where there's plenty going on.
That said, if I really have to listen to something -- like when doing a psych with annoying auditory effects like AL-LAD -- then I go for something without a real world reference point (to me), like Baroque harpsichord sonatas or Indian Classical music with sitar, tabla, that whole thing. Because that music isn't part of my day-to-day, it doesn't have the effect of keeping me grounded. It'll let me go...

I had two trips recently - one really strong where I had my mp3 player loaded up with all my favorite stuff, but instead I opted for silence. I tried listening but it quickly became a distraction from all the good stuff going on my head and had to shut it off.
I think that if you don't trip much, you're more apt to want silence. Or if you're on an especially strong trip. If you trip more frequently the experience becomes a little bit routine, allowing you to relax and take in music.
