I found these while walking through some grass. I picked them up and brought them home with me and now I am drying them. But before I continue to dry them, are they edible/ Active? haha

Habitat: Grass. Gills: I light blueish, mostly white. The gills are free. Stem: Mostly white. Cap: Wavy, weak, white with a light brownish/ golden tip/ nipple. About an inch/ in and a half long for the larger caps. Spore Print: Didn't make one, but I imagine white with a light touch of blue. Bruising: There was no color change, until I looked at them when they were drying and one stem was a blueish, but didn't want to be stupid and assume anything. Location: Washington State,
Other Pictures of them in the middle of being dried.

Why are you drying them? They are one of the Clitocybe sp. that we used to call Lepista.

Sure. If another TI can offer an opinion that it is C. nuda or maybe C. sordida you could cook them fresh, and maybe it is not a bad thing to keep some dried out for a later date.

I'll be sure to keep that in mind if I see them again, and I'll make a mushrooms soup if they start to grow again! Thanks for the help!

From the fresh specimens only, I support C. sordida/tarda.
Quote:
Gills: I light blueish, mostly white. The gills are free.
Are you sure that 'blue' is not actually pale lavender or pink?
Quote:
Spore Print: Didn't make one, but I imagine white with a light touch of blue.
There will be no blue in that spore print. Expect pale, creamy pink, but you should not make assumptions about spore color from any factor apart from actual spore color.
--------------------
Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.
