Wow! Found some nice stuff in 1hr hunt!
    #19003682 - 10/20/13 12:20 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Ne ohio. Friends yard full of pines and other trees mostly softwoods. Sorry for the  blurry pics but my iPad is in a lifeproof case. I didnt want to take it outside naked. Its been really damp and wet here getting our fall rains. The only ones I don't need IDed are the Pluteus cerinus and Amanita muscaria var. guessowii. I do need some guidance on the white colored Amanita. I think they are var. alba. They grow right with the guessowii so could just be sun dried? Anyway the Boletes and cup fungus etc, are what I would appreciate IDs on  TY in advance for your time. Its a big post 50 pics. Enjoy! Lets get the unknowns out of the way first
1. Found this growing in neighbors yard. I thought Armillaria?

2. A hole down tree and standing tree full of Ischnoderma resinosum!

3. Some type of Boletus sp, maybe Suillus americanus?

4. Boltete sp.? Pores

5. Found these growing with the Boletes

6. Another type of Bolete

7. Yellow cup fungi?

8. Pluteus cervinus prolly

Amanita muscaria var. guessowii

White Amanitas in question

Bonus pics!

You sure #4 had pores? It's too blurry to tell but it looks like a Gomphidius sp.

I'll believe it when you get a picture of it, as for now I'm calling these Gomphidius.

Yes, if it really has pores then that's likely what it is.

3. Is a Suillus but does not look like the americanus i find around five needled pine( white pine )
4. Suillus but I will agree that one showing the veil with the blackish spores on the veil looks so much like Chroogomphus, perhaps that was the lone one?
5. Marasmius oreades
6. Suillus
7. Dacryopinax spathularia
8. Pluteus
9. Amanita muscaria var. Guessowii
I can't say what kind of Amanita the white one is.
All your other ID's look correct!

Dacryopinax spathularia-  Im sure your right The chimp! They are found sometimes growing in polyester rugs lol!

Scotch bonnet (mushroom)
Many mushroom connoisseurs are fond of M. oreades[1] and its sweet taste lends it to baked goods such as cookies. It is also used in foods such as soups, stews, etc. Traditionally, the stems (which tend to be fibrous and unappetizing) are cut off and the caps are threaded and dried in strings. The reason why this mushroom is so sweet-tasting is due to the presence of trehalose, a type of sugar that allows M. oreades to cheat death.[2] When exposed to water after being completely dried out, the trehalose is digested as the cells completely revive, causing cellular reproduction and the creation of new spores to pick up again.
