Sunday morning EMC wake-n-bake thread
    #19002821 - 10/20/13 06:30 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Morning yall. I'm up early to get ready for Aikido class at 7. Just having some cereal and tea and about to take a shower. Finally the end of my work week today, so I have the next two off. Considering taking some kinda psychedelic tonight. Cactus? LSD? Mushrooms? 4-aco-dmt? The possibilities are out there. Looking forward to having some time to get my shit organized on my days off. I've been working a 6 day week since I got back from a music fest, so I haven't had a chance to get my shit together yet.

Lovin the weather here lately. It's been like 80 and sunny the past several days. Feels good man.

What's goin on in your crazy world on this fine Sunday?

Smoking a number and cleaning the apt.

Chris how is Aikido? That's similar to jiu jitsu ?

Damn 7 is early.

I think I'm gonna start taking a nap after my Jiu Jitsu class, otherwise my whole Saturday disappears.

Gonna hit a bong and decide whether or not to make beer today.

I like it OK. I've been doing it about 12 years. I kid- I LOVE it. It was derived from an old style of jiu jitsu combined with other styles mostly influenced by traditional sword and staff techniques. Not the ground fighting of jiu jitsu, and honestly I think jiu jitsu is probably a more effective "fighting" style in many ways. I'm not a violent or competitive person, so for me Aikido is perfect.

Here's a cool thing about it

A lot of people say Aikido is really the style where you learn the advanced techniques of Japanese grappling after you have already mastered BJJ/Judo. Like once you learn throwing and wrestling with a single person, you learn to defend weapons, multiple attackers, etc.

Yeah I think the way o-sensei formulated the techniques, it is a little more of a refinement of the theories compared to most of what I've seen in the jiu jitsu and stuff. My current sensei is an OLD ass dude who is also a master in Judo, so he definitely incorporates some elements of that into his Aikido. He teaches WAY better throws than I've learned in other dojos. He's also a master of taekwondo and Shaolin Kung Fu. He is an amazing man. I lose all control of my body as soon as a try to attack him pretty much.

I am just sittin here. Waiting on the family to wake up so we can eat breakfast, and then I am thinking of walking over into Manitou just to see what going on today and try to see if anyone is hiring. I am having a difficult time finding a job. I trimmed my beard WAY WAY back so that cant be it. I have an interview at a record shop this coming week and I {i] really, really, really hope that works out. It is a cool little shop.

Well I hope everyones morning is going well.

Yeah ive been faithfully applying orajel to the left side of my mouth every 10 minutes, when they call me tomorrow to make sure I'm still coming Tuesday I'm gonna let them know I'm in a shit ton of pain.

And yeah, I'm gonna mention that tylenol /aleve aint helping. I never take tylenol for anything and the past few days ive taken too much. Ill end up getting vicodin, if anything. That will surely work lol

I would also tell them the pain is bad enough that you are forced to self medicate with alcohol.

sorry to hear about your tooth pain. I lost a filling recently and it's kinda been bugging me, but I got no dental insurance right now, so I haven't been able to do anything about it. A friend of mine in San Diego though was telling me he knows a good dentist across the border in Mexico. Yeah yeah, I know what yall are gonna say about getting medical shit done in Mexico, but she actually used to have a practice in the states and is quite reputable and supposed to be very good.

Because I don't have dental insurance, I'm going w the surgical eextraction of the second molar on top to the left. The enamel broke off so all the dentin is exposed, cracked and has the nerve exposed. They have to cut into my gum to get the tooth out. This tooth has been retarded like this for quite some time but only recently has given me problems. I do get nitrous though, so that makes me feel better. I'm looking at about $450-$500 for it all.

Chris - I do plan on telling them that hahaha their office is operated by Mormons, they don't drink at all so I'm going to say "I don't normally drink alcohol, but I had to be drunk all weekend to not lose my sanity " I wouldn't care if they gave me a script for 5 pain pills, it'd help get through the nights atleast.

Ive officially quit smoking cigarettes as of Friday, though. I feel good (and my lungs)) do, too. I don't want to risk getting a dry socket so I need to stick to this.

I wouldn't mind going to Mexico, but I don't have a passport.

And with how much id spend in gas to get down there and have itbpulled, id probably only save $100
