So I went out and tried to find 8oz wide mouth jars and all I could find were the Kerr kind with a big lip so I bought these instead. The only problem I can think of is sterilizing them. Would the heat melt or warp them? Are there any other problems with these? What do yall think? If I can't use em ill jus take em back

Do they have the number 5 on the bottom of them? If so, they should work.

Also, I didn't poke holes before I sterilized. Does that mean the substrate didn't get sterilized? Should I start over poke holes put foil over em etc

They are my first choice, and yes. You should follow the link provided above, and follow them to the T. And your chance for success is great.

You mean glass ones? You should try those Glad ones I posted a pic of above. I can load a crapload of them in my pc. There a little taller then the Ziploc, making them not as round and fat.

I might try them but my glass jar lids are all custom made with injector ports and tyvek so at this point prolly not worth the switch

I know the tek I was just thinking since they're plastic I could inoculate straight through the plastic lids without having to prepoke the holes. But afterwards I thought about ge so

You might be able to if it's plastic, Glass ones would be hard. The thing is you want to disturb your dry vermiculite layer as little as possible. Disturbing it too much could allow a contaminate to enter.
You could try, just take extra precaution.
