Oyster Score - Primo ~:) * 1
    #19001367 - 10/19/13 08:22 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Just a quick share on Yesterdays Hunt with General Sherman...

Despite the Lack of rain and super dry spell we have been having, prospecting for a suitable micro-climate and the luck of the fog finally returning overnight paid off...
-within the first 5 minutes of the hunt, we scored...

Harvested about 3 Pounds.
Probably left another 8+ Pounds...

All prime and bug free..
-though I think the dry spell made them a little more on the chewy side.

A new cooking lesson learned.. do not toss with much lemon juice as they absorb ALL of it...  tired mistakes... but its all good.

Hooray for Oysters~
Fuck you no rain.

Lol I may have had it uploaded on facebook , to be honest I haven't checked faceboom for quite sometime. I don't have many friends on there that I don't see in real life. Last I remembered my picture was of dinosaurs haha
I also moved out of the 510 , not too far  but I'm there every month anyways so it's almost like I never left.

I like living in the mountains , it's pretty awesome

Made three cheese (brie-pepper jack-sharp cheddar) omelets with the left overs...
The chewy-ness went away, and the flavor was much better...
Nom-nom-nom.... :munchies:

Whyfor?  To eat?  The nectar seeking critters lovelovelove it, but my understanding is that it's not terribly edible for the homo sapiens...  If you get it, wall it in, the running roots on these are quite aggressive.  I had years back in the sf bay area, would root prune it a few times a year to keep it from hogging the whole bed.  It would get about 8' tall.  Gorgeous.

"Shrub, 30-90 cm. Leaves 2.5-) 4-9 cm, sessile or amplexicaul, broadly ovate to ovate-oblong, obtuse or rounded to subapiculate or subacute, when crushed not smelling of goats."

"The initial quake was a 6.6 but fairly shallow. I felt it as a prolonged up and down vibration followed by a jolt forward and then to the left, like square dancing."

I've seen it used in a lot of recipes so I would assume its edible?

But I also just love sages, I have many varities and the hummingbirds, butterflies and bees love them all...
- the hummingbirds really love them!

I am a bit of a plant collector... its become an obsession almost.

Thanks for the heads up on invasive'ness!
They will have plenty of space here.
We have 5 microclimates on this property, all of which are a little colder than the inner bay area.
Maybe they will retard a bit with a colder climate?
