I was wandering around the woods today, trying to familiarize myself with the LBMs, and I found these cool purple mushrooms that had me all curious:
Habitat: Olympia area forest, maybe 3/4 of a mile from the beach, growing on the forest floor, lots of pine needles around, doug fir I think.
Gills: Purple gills, same color as cap and stem.
Stem: 3-5" long, tough, sinewy, purple stem, apparently twisting and curling with age. Doesn't break cleanly.
Cap: Purple. Smallest one is about as big around as a penny and round, while the others no bigger around than a quarter and all warped with a depression in the center. They look a little bit frosted.
Spore print color: Underway, I think I see some brownish spores on the stems, and the cap of the little one.
Bruising: Stem maybe turns a bit darker purple when squeezed, but that seems to be it for bruises.

Here's some other cool stuff I found in the woods today...

Is "too young" a thing for eating lobsters?
Also, if someone could point me in the right direction about learning what kind of actives will actually appear in the forest, I'd really appreciate it.

Here is what I have been using as a guide: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=17103453&page=0&vc=1#17103453

Me too, I left those out to dry just cause they're pretty to look at. Thanks for the link, btw Might have to just go find some grass to tromp around in, those forest IDs look a little beyond my skill level...
