Thanks! 100%?

Strange story about these. I had an internal (spiritual) calling that drew me to this patch of mushrooms. Actually, all of you fine people here on the shroomery have been laying seeds of information about where/when to look and what to look for, and somehow I ended up in these.

Anyhow, I thought I would say thanks!

If someone says they are another wood-loving Psilocybe I won't argue, because there are several where you live, but they look like Cyans. And you're welcome, congrats & enjoy.

Definitely cyans.  Congrats.

I recommend though, in the future, to scissor or pinch the stems to pick and not yank them out of the ground.  It upsets the mycelial network that produces the fruiting bodies

Good tip, I actually am saving the bits of mycelium, and am going to try to re-introduce into some other areas. Any suggestions for doing this?

Going to try the Cardboard method, shouldn't be to tough. It's so wet here right now.

Thanks Alan!

So, I went back to the patch a little more prepared and found this nearby. I must have walked by them 100 times before, and failed to see them.

I have noticed that the mycelial network of cyans does not seem to mind the rough harvesting method.... as long as the area is not depleted and established areas are not excessively cleared out through picking, they seem to recover just fine.. and sometimes very vigorously... I have seen ripped up patches come back 5-10 times fold the next season.

I will have to agree. Ive seen some brutal harvesting techniques and still witnessed 3 and 4 flushes from the same brutalized spot. also the next year the spot will be considerably spread out. (IMO)

Some of these are some nasty shrooms that I didn't want to dry, and the rest are ones with Myc that I collected.
So check out what is happening:

Wow! That's pretty cool. I'm wondering (because I have no knowledge about this) if that's mycelium or another fungus taking over? I'll have to do this next time I find some.

It looks pure white, and it's growing fairly slowly, but who knows right? It's going to be mixed with some clean woodchips from a confer tree.
