Couple ID requests
    #18996674 - 10/18/13 05:53 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

Hey so i have a couple mushrooms that i'm trying to id. I'm new to the whole mushroom thing

first are some boletes, i think they are butter boletes. They have a brown cap, yellow stem with a reddish on the bottom and brusied blue really easily. Im reading that they should be finely netted at top but i'm not sure what that means. they have a weird kind of bitter smell to them too.

second is this really cool looking thing. have no idea what it is.

last are some little chanterelles. They were really small and i couldn't really tell if the gils were blunt like they were supposed to be, they looked a little finer than they should have. I wasn't sure about the smell because the wood they were growing on smelled bad i think.

This one looked a little different and was in a different cluster 20 feet away.

Unfortunately I can't give you any definite IDs based on your pictures, only thing I can say is that your 'chantharelles' are definitely not it.

I don't think that bolete is a bitter bolete, based on the description in my guidebook. Is there anyone else you could possibly give me an id on that bolete or tell me something to look for?
