Yes. I was going to call it A. multisquamosa but it looks a bit dark for that.
It would be cool if you could get some dna sequences so I could compare your collection to genbanks collections and Mexican material.

It won't be particularly helpful. Probably still ample genetic material if you didn't do it at high heat, but maybe you should check that spot later for more.

I always just find one per year. Found one last year too. They grow in our old growth Oak/Hickory forests. I found the one last year under Beech, this one was under a massive Oak. I'll keep an eye on that spot and other similar ones. I dried it at 200 f with the door cracked (as per muscaria). I was looking forward to nibbling on it a little, but if you guys are interested in it I'll abstain.
