Howdy-do,
I had a fairly "fruitful" trip to the coast last weekend and came back to town to find these... Mycology is newer to me (botany is more my gig). I'm discovering a lot of fascinating things about the PNW, especially what the rains bring. Any information appreciated.
Habitat: Found in soil/wood debris mixture in the Willamette Valley. Orientation is rather exposed to sunlight for a portion of the day, although the area is moist from a leaking gutter above. The Indian Summer we're having seems to be drying them out quickly.
Gills: Color: Lighter brown in young specimens, darker brown with age. Attached to Stem. Young specimens have the cobweb-like veil.
Stem: Varying length, slender, whitish color, smooth, hard to tell if it's hollow since pinching the stems negate the observation.
Cap: Opening seemingly early to dime size and quarter size. Again, I think they're maturing quickly in the sunny exposure. Some caps remain rather rounded, others flare open, a couple with wavy margins. Some have minute stripes along the margins.
Spore print color: In progress - appearing dark thus far.
Bruising: Modest blue hues/streaks from contact and some caps have a blue tint on their own. Some specimens have a blue ring on the stem just below the point where gills meet the stem. Not as much bruising as I would expect, hence my skepticism.
Photos: Sorry, not the best quality. I used my headlamp in an attempt at better lighting.

Many thanks, -psilodendron
