Casing ? - Violets Tek

I'm at the point now where my grains are fully colonized and have gotten a good 3 weeks of "chewing" in. Cracked their lids and left them on cracked for the past week in a mono I've finally got dialed in to keep a rh of 95%+ and just finished pasteurizing my 50/50 casing that I'll be letting cool over night.
Never done any type of casing before so my question... I've technically put the grains into fruiting conditions already although the mono hasn't until maybe 2 or 3 days ago been dialed to maintain a good 95%+ rh. I plan on casing the containers tomorrow and wasn't sure if I should allow the casing some time of colonize a bit (~20% based on Frank's tek) or if since I've had them in a mono slowly building to the appropriate rh I should just case and leave them in the mono they're being put "straight into fruiting conditions" as I've seen one of my options is as well.
On a happy side note, I figured out the sweet spot on my stove to maintain a pretty much 157-160 temp constantly for pasteurization so that's good news! The first couple of tries my temps were all over the damn place... Now I shall see how well these containers perform over working with bulk treys/tubs.
I'll be making an attempt at keeping a half decent log on my results for everyone. Working with PE and AA+ on these.
Cheers

Why don't you just post in the thread?

Even straight into the fruiting chamber they're likely to colonize the casing layer, almost if not fully. I see this every time except after "late casing" which doesn't work entirely the same with straight grains.
95+% RH is good; perhaps and hopefully you'll be able to have it 99-100% with the cased cakes present, that helps a lot with pins

That was a mistake. Keep grains sterile until you spawn or case them. RR

By having already put the containers into fruiting conditions before appling the casing how will that effect them negativley if then appling the casing layer now? It cant have been more then 2 days theyve had their lids cracked in the mono with the rh above 90%. If/when i case should i considering the details go for a smaller layer 1/4" instead of a 1/2"?

Anywhere 1/4" to 1/2" is quite fine. I don't think you'll have any problems with the lids having been cracked since they don't easily let contaminants drift, but the hope is to avoid sealing a vivacious contaminant under the casing layer. Keep your humidity as high as possible!
