SWIM was wondering where he could look for natural growing mushrooms in the Southern California Area. SWIM lives in LA and cannot find anyone selling mushrooms.

You would have better luck doing research on the mushrooms that grow in california. Then go look in the habitats that those mushrooms may be found in.
Nobody is just gonna tell you where to find them. Its not that easy.

Species found: P. azurescens P. cyanescens P. semilanceata P. pelliculosa P. stuntzii G. luteofolius Pan. cinctulus

Lol, L.A? I suspect that area is way too dry. I know because I use to live there. Well I honestly never looked for mushrooms, but a place that seemed like it could be the right environment (as far as I remember) would be Chantry Flats. I don't know what area you actually live in but people claim to live in L.A and live in San Bernardino. But yes definitely take some time to learn about the mushrooms you want to pick and don't think that your going to find it easily. If you like, do what I do: go hunting, take lots of pictures and try to identify what you find...you'll soon realize it's really hard to identify species...but you'll slowly learn and not pick what could harm you. Good luck. Also P.M me with whatever you find because I'm interested in what's out there!

3. Do not ask what mushrooms can be found growing in your state or immediate area. That information can be found here: http://www.shroomery.org/8461/Which-mushrooms-grow-wild-in-my-area Also read An overview on how to find Psilocybin Mushrooms.
6. No asking when or where mushrooms, or a specific mushroom species will grow. This includes, asking what habitat a mushroom[s] can be found- or their preferred fruiting conditions. This can be very simply answered by using the "search posts" feature: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/search.php
