Stumbled upon these, ID please?
    #18991754 - 10/17/13 04:30 PM (10 years, 5 months ago)

(NH) At soccer practice the other day I went to shagg a ball that went into the woods and stumbled upon a few mushrooms, but I couldn't pick them because, well, I was still practicing. Went back today and only found these few, but I see a lot of newbie pins.

Habitat:
Growing in woods next little river, ground is pretty wet loose soil. Found them growing next to broken dead tree under leaves and wood chips (chipped pieces of bark off the tree).

Gills:
light tan/pale color, almost yellow.

Stem:
3.8-4.2 cm in length, 0.3 in diameter, dark brown color at base turning tan towards cap, smooth texture.

Cap:
2.0-2.5 in diameter, brown at center fading lighter tan towards outside.

Did not do a spore print, not exactly sure how (nexbie), first find/inquiry.

Didn't notice any bruising.

Lmk if any more/better pictures are needed.

don't know what they are, but if you were hoping they're active, they're not.

Yeah my hopes are to find active shrooms in my area, but also to get a sense of what is growing in the area as well. Thanks btw!

Gymnopus species, something like Gymnopus erythropus perhaps.  Were they growing in clusters?

There were a few growing together and a few other patches together surrounding, but only pins. I think i'm going to go back today and see what I can find in that space. But the weather isn't the greatest, rainy last night, very dewy this morning and decently warm, now its all  cloudy and about 60 F, is it worth it?

And to confirm, not active?
