lnfam0us said: ok so heres what i spent time doing today for fun. i know nothing about them but the close ups i took are the ones im particularly interested about. im wondering, by pictures online, if i found some liberty caps, and the others i just thought were cool. all the shrooms were found in the forest and the liberty cap lookin ones were the only ones i found in a grass feild. what can i do to be certain what they are?
That's an impressive haul and variety of mushrooms, great job
To be certain of what you have, in this context would be to sort those out individually and take clear, well lit photos of all basic/important features and filling out the suggested ID template.
Alternatively, you can use use the many keys available online and in books.

No problem. If you have ID requests you can find answers here, but you're going to catch some static if you don't conform to the guidelines and rules.

I makes the difference between "1. Species" and "That one below the big blah blah and next to the blah blah but not the little blah, the bigger blah blah blah...species."

Perhaps post a request especially for the little mushrooms in the second and third shots. After those Cortinarius spp. and Laccaria amethystina, Chlorophyllum sp, Hygrocybe cf. coccinea, Lactarius cf. deliciosus, Russula sp. and something else. In the big photo among other things you have a Wine Cap and several likely deadly Amanita.

A few would say yes. Most would say no.
First, post some pictures to verify your find. Next, take the time to research how to prepare them properly. Then let us know what you think.
Edit: If your talking about eating them for flavor and not for the drugs then they are excellent edibles. You can parboil out the Muscimol and Ibotenic Acid.
