Hey, My first round at this, could someone take a look at the dried samples and ensure they aren't galerina?
Habitat: Wood Chips
Gills: adnate, yellow or brownish, blacking with handling
Stem: white fibrous, bruising blue/black
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc.
Spore print color: seems to be blacking purple, but difficult to tell
Bruising: stem bruises black or very dark blue
Other information: photos attached, have dried only

point taken.
It appear galerina max out at 250 ug / wet gram for amatoxin. Lethal dose is 0.1 mg / kg. For a normal person thats about 7 mg. Any ideas what say, 0.01 mg / kg would do to a person, i.e. about 0.5 g galerina?

They *look to be* P. cyanescens. In that lighting, so could G. marginata. Even if I would say I were certain, I will rarely attest to all specimens within a pile of mushrooms when somebody's safety is in question.

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it. If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

All of the mushrooms in the OP are Psilocybe cyanescens.

I'm sure some or even most are P. cyanescens, but a few don't look quite right to me. They could all be ok and if I was there in person looking at them I would feel confident in being able to weed out any non-cyanescens or in confirming all of them. As it is I feel that some could be wrong.

Nah they are all P. cyanescens.
Which ones don't look right to you, and why?

OP where do you live? How did you happen upon these dried mushrooms? A possitive dark brown/purple spore print would be more appealing..

Actually I'm changing my mind. I think they are all good. The one in the 4th pic, on the left hand side, second from the top where the gills look almost subdecurrent was mainly what I was worrying about but then I thought about it and looked at some dried specimens I have and realized that I had forgotten they can dry to look like that sometimes. Especially when on the younger side, like fully open but not really undulating yet.

Yep, cyanescens. Make sure you see bruising on all specimens.

Hey thanks everyone for the responses. Sorry about the delay
OP where do you live? Seattle
How did you happen upon these dried mushrooms? Walking through a public park, wood-chip beds on an incline.
A light spore print was obtained while still wet. It _looked_ purplish black but there wasn't much to see. I don't think it could show up in a photograph well. Where water dripped in obscuring the print, it is clearly purplish black.
It is the case that these were open, with the cap margins starting to undulate but not quite fully there yet. There was some undulation under way when discovered.

Well, it would be wise to get some fresh ones to post for an ID.

will do, ill look for them again. If the patch has been completely raped (someone was watching me and took note), I think that will answer the question on its own.

while that can be confused as sound argument, how do you know they weren't thinking the exact same thing?

I'm not sure. Can anyone ever tell for sure, without gc/ms analysis? What about looking at the spores in a scope?

I mean I would agree they do look like dried P. cyanescens, but so do 5.3 trillion other species of dried mushrooms.

I see what you mean. I think I'm being overly eager due to the days and days spent in order to find an incredibly small amount, without having the foresight to research the need for photos in the wet state. I think I'll be writing this one off and am thankful to everyone here for sharing their expertise on this ID. Better to be sure than die from amatoxin.

Found these. Original spot was utterly raped including mycelium except for a couple tiny pins, presumably by the guy that saw me. Took photos of those. Then found more, that were undoubtably the exact same strain as last time. I was prudent enough to get copious photographs this time. They all bruise blue/black color and are basically identical to OP except in wet form and mostly from different near location.
Does this solve the mystery?
