I started with a 6QT and had no problems for a few PF cakes.

In store, or ordering?
Will this be your first grow using substrate that requires full sterilazation?

Thats the same size as the one I bought last week. Did you run into any problems with how small it was? When did you upgrade and what to?

I started with cakes. Then I started spawning those cakes to bulk.
Then I did pint jars of grains and did trays that I put in my SGFC.
Once I started needing quart jars for tubs I got myself a 16QT Presto.
Never needed anything bigger than that, but some people obviously do.
It was probably a little more than a year before I really needed to upgrade.

As I will give this warning to anyone buying a 30 Qt 0r 41.5 Qt AA canner/sterilizer, check the listed dimensions to see if they will fit on your range (and make sure it's gas). The height sometimes gets in the way if you have a hood/microwave above your stove.
I learned the hard way. I'm just happy to have gas burners. The 941 has to go outside or in the shop because it is way too big for my indoor range. It goes on a propane burner. The AA1925x Sterilizer just barely fits inside the hood on the indoor stove.
Good luck with your choice. All AA's are made in the USA.

To continue with the PC love I have an All American 921, fits 10 quart jars, it's big but not unweildly and built like a small tank. It's easily the best purchase I've made for this process and will survive forever.

The presto 23 quart can fit 10 wide mouth just fine no forcing. The three on top fit like a crooked stone henge arrangement.

I love my AA 75x. Plugs into the wall keeping me off the stove and thus in my wife's good books. Was a little pricy but worth it.

Dealing with the heat? No. Flat tops should work the same as any other electric. Dealing with the weight on your glass may cause problems, however. Check the PC and see if the instructions say you can use it on a flat top range.
