What made you what you are today, im looking for the single most influential moment in your life good or bad.
I was 16, caught a felony had 8 years in CYA over my head. So i went to a 3 month in house rehab before my court date that helped me get only 3 months formal probation as long as i kept going to AA/NA. Ive now been sober for 9 years (except for kava) Married, and home owner. I might not like everything they have to say but i owe my life today to the fucking cop that busted me and the AA group that befriended me despite my resistance.

Now that i think about it. Being a homeless tweaker shaped me just as much as trying not to be one. You get to go through alot of things normal people just cant comprehend.

True, such a big influence in the development years of an individual, I cant help but thinking some things get ingrained so far into the core you don't even realize them.

Absolutely, I can trace just about everything in my personality structure to those formative years. I had some very shitty parents. Consequently it made it very easy to become a shitty person myself.

That pretty much sums it up for me. No single moment, but many painful, terrifying, beautiful and down right hellish and insane ones.

What I take from that are the sort of people whose eyes glaze over when you mention anything other than the ballgame.

Single event? None
Genetics, many beatings, poverty, starvation, a sociology book I read when I was 12, being blamed for the death of a pet which I certainly had nothing to do with.
Those have been some very defining circumstances in my life among many more, boiling down to one I couldn't put one event over another. It would simply be inaccurate.
