    #18994632 - 10/18/13 09:22 AM (11 years, 2 months ago)

My friend has a popcorn jar that was stalled because of moister issues, the top colonized but bottom never did he transfered it into a large cool whip container with BRF PF tek mixed with freshly processed popcorn on bottom added the contents of the stalled jar and then topped with rye pf tek, everything was sanitized and transfer occured inside a large trash bag for extra saftey. cam strain any advice for him ? Thanks

I'm not sure I understand...so you spawned the
Corn spawn to BRF substrate? Because spawning to
BRF  or Rye flour is almost  guaranteed to
contaminate. They are both very nutritious, which
Is why we usually never spawn grains to flour.

Or were the PF tek substrate jars fully colonized?

If you spawned to a brf substrate your chances of contams are high. I don't want to give you a % because it would be some shit I pull out of nowhere but there's no good way to spawn completely aseptically / sterile. Even with that trash bag setup.

Those videos are really really worth the watch over the course of a day and a few bowls. (take notes, I know it blows but you'll need them to not make mistakes the first time and waist money)

You have a PC(pressure cooker)?

No bueno senor. I would start over again. This reminds me of when I would have some extra PF cakes lying around, I would spawn those to coir/ verm and put it one of those McDonalds trick or treat tubs! They fruited pretty nice actually. Stay away from popcorn, most TC's would not recommend popcorn kernels. Just buy wbs! It is super cheap!

Yeah corn isn't a great spawn to start with,
it can be pretty hard to get the moisture content
right. I would start with Wild Bird Seed as said.

Spawning cakes to bulk can be fun, and a great
learning experience in itself....of course fully
Colonized cakes of course.
