After shiitake fruit in bag

I searched for this topic on the Shroomery, but couldn't find it.
I've got a bunch of bags that I left too long on the shelf, and they've fruited in vitro. I know I should strip the bags and remove the fruit, but what next? Should I treat the blocks as if this were a first flush? Or move them right to the FC for further fruiting? What are these shiitake block thinking? I need to second-guess them!

Do you mean cold shocking, dunking, slapping around? I am interested to know your procedure. I just recently removed a large fruit and merely sprayed it and stuck it in my fc and it is just now getting a pin. Another bag I had that had, I stuck int eh fridge for a day(8 hours maybe) as well as dunked, no smacking as I'm not sure about that part yet adn it is full of pins. So I'd say a good cold shock and dunk at least would be good. Thats just from one recent experience. Not several so i'm still not able to for sure say either way was better. I am using shiitake 75.

When this happened to alot of blocks to me last fall i striped the bags, pulled off the fruits and rinsed in cold water. A good flush came, but it was less than if there was no invitro pinning.

We treat them like any other shiitake. Strip the bag, Give it a good physical shock and wash it off if it's going indoors. Ours still produce like mad after words.

So does no one actually slap the bags? I had been considering giving it a shot to see if there was a difference.

Do you mean slap the block while it is still in the bag?
Slap, hit, dig your fingers in. As long as the block doesn't break apart you can't give it too much physical shock in my opinion. When we take bags to market, they just bounce around the car and get thrown around all day. Within a few days all those bags are pinning like mad!
Not that I advice breaking them apart but we had a guy who broke a block in half on accident and both halves proceeded to fruit exceptionally well.

We are now experimenting with electric shock. Tried it first on poplar. Now going to try it on shiitake. Using a car battery apparently it only takes ten seconds.

I got no benefit from it. I tried voltages up to 50KV with various times, AC and DC, sine and square waves and various frequencies as well as single bursts. RR
