Funny story about Now and Then, Here and There
They showed it for like two days at different parts and stopped because it was on the toonami bloc
and the Lupin the 3rd one is new but only tv-14 through specific providers
The top two are up there but growing up Dragon Ball was always my favorite

Record of Lodoss War - Oldschool, but so beautiful.. the dragons are drawn very well as well.
Neon Genesis Evangelion - The first anime I watched. Amazing. Legendary.
Attack on Titan - VERY well done, keeps your interest, pace and artwork are great.
Hellsing Ultimate -Badass Vampire Kills Everything

I relly enjoyed The Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. At the moments i'm watching Naruto Shippuden; and it's pretty bloody sweet. If you choose to watch Naruto Shippuden, start by watching the original, and watching season 1, 2, and 3; then watch the first four episodes of season 4, and then begin to watch Naruto Shippuden. Watching it in this order keeps in the original manga order. It's incredibly addictive; almost every episode ends in a cliff hanger, leaving you thirsty for more.

I use to be really into reading Manga, never enjoyed Anime as much just because I could never get use to their voices for some reason. Some of a favorites from back in the day would be.
1. One Piece 2. Naruto 3. Its not my fault I'm not popular 4. Freezing 5. Yu Yu Hakusho 6. Yu-Gi-Oh 7. Bleach
Really basic stuff, I forgot a lot of the shorter ones sadly witch were some of the best, but whatever
Also I did watch all of Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal alchemst, also spirited away was awesome. I can't really get into most of these anymore, don't really know why

Naruto gets extremely annoying sometimes its just flashbacks of naruto for the entire episode and bleach is about as dramatic as teenage mutant ninja turtles, yu-gi-oh was completely hacked of it's best material when it came to t.v. on the u.s. shores

Wow, I almost forgot to post.
Just saw this anime called "Angel Beats" on Crunchy Roll
You get two weeks free if you sign up with a credit card and you can cancel anytime.
Watched it all in several days. Very good show. Something people who watched Durradurra would like, but it was a lot better and structured as a 10 episode series.
Check it out! Definitely worth watching if you enjoy anime you will love it an episode or two in depending on who you are.
You can always watch it for free but commercials ruin anime I feel.

I see some people have already posted several of my choices but if you are truly looking for "deep" then...
Neon Genesis Evangelion (Gainax) FLCL aka Fooly Cooly (also Gainax) Cowboy Bebop Ghost in The Shell "Rouroni Kenshin" and the prequel movies where he Kenshin is still an assassin are especially deep - "Samurai X"
The Full Metal Alchemist movie and series are pretty good also, as is Yu Yu Hakusho
PS I leave for Japan tomorrow for two weeks so I'll be sure to let you know of what I find there!
So fucking pumped to finally be going

Elfin Lied was the only one Ive ever been able to get into but it was awesome. Everything else has been either too dull or interesting but too complex to jump into. There were some other good ones that I almost got hooked on but if if there are already 50+ episodes I don't bother. I've got other hobbies an not enough time for them either, period.
But +10 for elfin lied, super bad ass.

i haven't gotten TOO into anime but my favorites were death note, code geass, and maybe moster i guess. Naruto was my favorite but more so because it was just so damn addicting, i don't think it was as well orchestrated or elaborate as something like code geass. it still had a lot of holy shit factor though, and it's nostalgic as fuck.

I do believe Attack on Titan is meant to get a second season, so that may be why stuff was left unexplained.
A lot of people complained that it was too slow, but I couldn't have disagreed more. That show oozed awesome.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is a great anime despite being western. However some moments are kind of cheesy and kiddy and dilute the content a bit, but it was on Nickelodeon, so what do you expect.

So far every anime I've watched is better in Japanese with subtitles on, they just word it better with the subtitles or something. I watched Death Note in English and Japanese and it just seemed cheesy in English

Yeah in a lot of movies actually they may switch the whole tone/sentence of what they're saying like in the opening of GitS
Lupin the 3rd Fujiko Mine sounds really weird in English, the girl at the beggining sounds poetic and affectionate and lupin's voice is Krillen from DBZ which normally wouldn't be bad I'm still holding reservations though because in the Japanese one he's a bad ass but his humor still works

The same thing happened to me with Sword Art Online. I watched the whole thing Subbed originally than I was watching toonami one night and the dubbed version came on and it just seemed silly.
On a side note just finished season one of Black Butler, very good anime. I had to go out and buy some Earl Grey.

Love this series! The last couple of episodes kind of reminded me of a mushroom trip I once had. Then I talk to my "sober" anime friends about the series and they're just like, "I liked it up until the end, what was it even about anyway".

NOBODY here has said InuYasha?? Whaaaat, that was my favorite anime back in like fucking elementary or middle school.
Fuck y'all man, y'all disappoint me lol
also Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, & One piece
I think Inuyasha appeals more to teh womenz, all the anime girls loved that back in school.
Also, watched Code Geass recently, oooomg. I'm currently watching Baccano! weird but good.
Inuyasha was my first anime and I have all the seasons(minus the final acts which I need) on dvd, I'm a dude. Then again I'm known for liking a lot of cutesy stuff so...
Loved Code Geass.

I'll check it out!
Elfen Lied is a verry underrated series. I had heard a little about it when someone suggest it to me after watching neon genesis and my first thought was like "where have I been!"
Also, just a shout out to Elfen Lied fans, the guy who wrote Elfen Lied Lynn Okamoto has been releasing a manga for a while now called Gokukoku no Brynhildr and it(in my opinion) my even be better than Elfen Lied. It will be getting it's own Anime!
Here's a preview
Here's the full story Gokukoku no Brynhildr

That's treason right there. I really enjoyed, 'The Full Metal Alchemist'. It totally sucked me in with all the plot twists. Personally i think it had one of the worst endings i've ever seen, it just seemed so fake and pulled out of nowhere in my opinion. I was so happy to hear that it wasn't based on the Manga, and that Brotherhood existed. I felt a lot more satisfied watching Brotherhood, especially the ending. I didn't enjoy the middle as much as Full Metal Alchemist though. There was obviously episodes left out, like the creators assumed people had watched The Full Metal Alchemist. What i mean by this is characters like Barry the Butcher and the guy who owned the mining town. If one hadn't seen The Full Metal Alchemist and just watched Brotherhood, those characters just come out of nowhere. I missed the plot twists present in The Full Metal Alchemist which were not in Brotherhood.

So far every anime I've watched is better in Japanese with subtitles on, they just word it better with the subtitles or something. I watched Death Note in English and Japanese and it just seemed cheesy in English
The same thing happened to me with Sword Art Online. I watched the whole thing Subbed originally than I was watching toonami one night and the dubbed version came on and it just seemed silly.
On a side note just finished season one of Black Butler, very good anime. I had to go out and buy some Earl Grey.
I just watched the first 14 episodes of sword art online (been sick so i'm just binging on anime) and I really liked it, then I watched the 15th episode and i'm not sure I want to finish it. I've heard it goes really downhill.

i was totally pissed when that happened in SWO. i was fully expecting to watch them go through all 100 levels. there will be a second season though. i still liked the show

neither know when to end, they go on way too long to bother with. and I couldn't stand all the filler back when I watched naruto.

What do you guys think of Death Note. I watched the first three episodes of it, and i'm finding i dislike the main character a bit. Not only do i dislike his personality, but i also think he's kinda dumb. What i mean is, when he killed the felon on tv who was supposedly El, That was obviously a trap. I don't think i'm going to like this anime, and unsure if i should invest in the rest of the episodes. Does it get really good later, or do yous think i should quit now if i don't like what i've seen so far?

I'd say you might as well watch it, but I think it goes pretty downhill personally after a certain point.

it's not bad or anything, but for me the second half was a bit of a let down compared to the awesome first half

I would say yes, but I will have to agree that it does go downhill after a while. I thought it was still ok, but the later half just isn't as good.

Death Note was great, but I hated the fact that the killed off L since he was like 60% of why I watched it.

that's the reason I stopped liking it as much, those other two clowns weren't shit compared to L.
