those look like regular mouth 1/2 pint jars to me, I understand why wide mouthed half pints are preferred for brf cakes but the reg mouth 1/2s are much more common in stores(at least ime) and have worked fine for me
looking good op your on your way
when the cakes are done colonizing and you attempt to birth them you may have some trouble getting the cakes out of the jars. I like to turn the jar upside down with the lid on and gently tap the top of the jar on a desk or countertop. the cake should loosen up enough that you can remove the lid and shimmy the cake out

They're 1/2 pint wide mouth jars.
I hope to be at 100% colonization in the next two weeks; updates to follow

upon second look, I noticed a ton of hyphal knots on the substrate. it looks like u might end up having invitro pins prolly before full colonization
that is where the shorter wide mouth half pints are recommended because they are said to colonize quicker and less likely to stall

You're all right about them being regular mouth 1/2 pints. Don't know what I was going on about this morning about them being wide. I blame it on the time of morning.
Any advice for when it's time to birth and watch these babies grow?

if i had to guess in a few days your going to have pins
and your substrate might not be fully colonized
maximize the third picture and you can clearly see hyphal knots forming
how long ago did you knock up your jars out of curiosity?

Julius Pepperwood said: Does this look like healthy myc growth with BRF Tek? It's my first grow, I've been doing a good bit of research but I'm concerned that some of the growth on the outer edges might be indicative of contams. I might just be paranoid on this one, though.
These are the only jars I've gotten any colonization out of. I nocced these jars about three weeks ago (very slow growth I feel). I'm looking for a bit of advice from more experienced eyes.
Thanks!

The next person who says that these are 1/2 pint regular mouth jars is getting smacked!. These are Wide Mouth for sure.

I'm getting several invitro pins in one jar that look like they're ready to burst through the jar. I still have a 1" x 1/2" section which still hasn't colonized, but I suspect I have another week until this bad boy is ready for the FC.
My second is a little slow, only about 65% through. I think it'll be ready to birth in another few weeks. The wait is agonizing but it's fun to watch growth.

*UPDATE*

Looking good? Can anyone ID if that's a split or crack in the biggest one there? I've been keeping my RH in the high 90's.
