What you're describing is kinda like winning the health lottery. Everybody knows a guy or two who lived until 200 and had an Ozzy Osbourne lifestyle. We also know hundreds who die before they reach 60 years old because of bad habits.
I wouldn't gamble that I'll live to 100 years old, so I'd rather pick a healthy lifestyle and put the odds on my side

If all my family lives to 90+ I don't think it's the lotto. My whole family both sides (Russian and Porto rican) either drank to their death bed or did drugs.

It's your body, use it, abuse it, its your call. The deck definitely seems stacked in your favor. But do you really want to count on that?

Nope, that's why I only do THC now and don't smoke or drive.
No need to take a chance with the only life I get.

The vegans I know are never self-righteous about it, they don't make specific requests if someone else is making food but I and other friends always try to remember them and give them an option anyway. I have never once been preached to by a vegan friend, even while eating meat. I used to be Vegetarian and am still not a huge meat eater, but I do eat it and I'm not going to not order it in a restaurant if I'm eating with vegetarians or something. No one has ever had a problem with this.
My vegan and vegetarian friends know their way around the kitchen and make banging, healthy dishes and I've learned a lot about cooking in general from them. Some of them are super passionate about health food and will talk to me about hemp milk vs rice milk for hours, but never will they preach to me.
I think what you are referring to are assholes. Assholes will be assholes regardless of dietary orientation.
...you're kinda bein' an asshole right now.

Actually most vegans/vegetarians keep to themselves and have a very non-pushy attitude. I'm a vegetarian and I never mention it unless the subject comes up, in which case I don't proselytize, I just explain.
If anything, it's the meat eaters get overly defensive if the subject even comes up at all. For instance, 99% of the time on here, if there's any thread remotely relating to vegetarians or vegans, there'll be some asshole who comes in and says "LOL what a bunch of pussies" or "Stupid self-righteous vegetarians, meat is murder tasty tasty murder olololol."

I don't think you can group all vegans together, everyone has their reason, and not all reasons are the same.

I think vegans are weak, why should any form of life have to be sacrificed for the sake of my survival. I synthesize every vitamin and nutrient I need in my lab, dilute them in fluid and shoot it up. Sometimes for that extra energy boost i plug my special liquids.

Yeah, for sure.
Compared to the average American I do not eat a lot of meat and didn't for a long time, it's partially for health and partially because I find vegan and vegetarian diets just much more interesting and diverse - vegetable based dishes are just really colorful and pretty...and I like that... .
I think there's a whole world beyond steak and potatoes and I like to explore different ethnic foods and see what I can do with food that I've grown myself. I have absolutely no issue with people hunting for food or sport, I think it's a very important aspect of conservation if it's done lawfully(thankyou President FDR for said conservation efforts), and most of my friends feel the same, hell some of them raise and slaughter their own food.
It's simply a personal dietary choice, it doesn't mean those people feel that everyone should make the same one.

honestly I'm not too surprised. Isn't it possible for someone to live a very long life feeding only on breast milk?
This is just ridiculous tho, "Soylent was designed by software engineer Rob Rhinehart to be a low cost alternative to traditional food that can be prepared and consumed with less time and activity."
Wow that just made humans sound so fucking lazy...

I like this quote, although in my opinion I think fear is much stronger and also had a much bigger impact on humanity.
