its really easy to do if you have hobbies, have a nice mushroom trip and that'll put you on the right path for a break. buy a bike, start cycling. take up fishing, take up gardening which is cooler than you'd think. take up anything that interests you. Reading is great and so is meditation.

I don't smoke much now maybe a small joint once every 2 weeks but I when I was in my early 20s I smoked every day . I use to wake and bake on weekends and I got to a point where I started taking weed to work on a Friday to sort of start the weekend .
I quit for 2 years and went out one night a someone was smoking outside a bar and offered me a few hits and that reminded me how much I use to enjoy weed before I abused it in my youth . I also think you need the right weed for the occasion . Indica for bedtime and sativa for a sneaky joint on a night out .
I wish you the best of luck with quitting , The hardest part for me was friends as they all still smoked when I packed in . I would smell that sweet M.J and want it so bad . I think this goes for all drugs , moderation and respect for the drug itself .

OP ...The good thing about quitting weed is there are no withdrawals...so you can quit as many times as you want. That said, I got the same effects that you spoke of ...and, eventually just got tired of the social anxiety and lack of motivation...that was over 30 years ago and I have not looked back....I've never missed it.
I think it affects some people differently, like some don't get that anxiety that I got so it would be different for them. This is a personal choice based on my reaction to it...don't let other people tell you that you should be able to smoke it because they only know how it affects them....not you. M

Its good you stopped now man and realized it wasn't helping. Hell, you could of ended up like me, smoking 2g's of BHO a day. Luckily i built my life around the addiction and work/own a concentrate extraction lab so I can take my work home with me.
good luck man, quitting is a bitch for about 4 days, then its smooth sailing from there (only minus the unconditional love of your forever friend who wants more than anything to get back into your lungs)

Good on you OP. a lot of people have a hard time admitting when their smoking habit is getting out of hand.
