Came across this and thought it was a pretty cool visual way to put into perspective how miniscule we really are whilst portraying the relative nature of things.

I've been watching astronomy vids lately. Made me want to get out the telescope and look up some neighboring galaxies. I'm lucky enough to live in a town without hardly any light pollution. But I digress. The universe is pretty big I think.

I like to send messages to this one nearby civilization and then listen for the reply 12,000 years later. It's a hobby that takes great patience.

I find it fascinating that the distance from Earth to the Moon is so vast, yet the planet still maintains a gravitational pull on the Moon and even the other way around. It seems like pulling someone toward you across a football field

You're right and we are also effected by galaxies hundreds of light years away and more. And someone is pulling you across a football field. We all have a gravitational effect on each other.

This world is far too strange for understanding, it would be a shame to spend it without that sense of honest wonder that comes with not-knowing. It gets thrown away and replaced with comfortable dogma, damn shame

Pretty cool Withinity. I have always loved astronomy - it's so interesting how huge and wonderful the entire universe is, and how much of it we are unaware of.

There is some truth to this but one must have some backbone to make it happen.

Yeah, confronting death anxiety without the idea that someone is going to save you from death can be pretty wild. I'd still never trade that perspective of honesty though, the poetry of life is much more potent when one doesn't hide from it

Probably, humans seem to have a talent for lying to themselves

Lying to myself is not one of my major skills.
