are they as self..
    #18990028 - 10/17/13 09:28 AM (10 years, 3 months ago)

Are vegans as self-righteous as we all believe them to be? I see them on par with environmentalist, the overly religious, and anti gun nuts.

These are the main groups that I believe that they believe they are above everyone around em and they try and force their views on everyone who could really not give a shit.

But vegans are on the top of this list more than any other group.

So anyone ever find that one group rise above all else in terms of being above the rest?
are the Vegans an issue?
You may choose only one

Lol I love how I'm always pegged as a troll when this is how I am in RL, except ill say worse things about any group because I don't get banned because overly sensitive assholes that are well offended when they have someone oppose their views or say anything insensitive, so ya I always get a good chuckle, but that's because they get offended by my post when I never meant any offence :lolsy:

I've never had a vegan I was friends with tell me to do anything.  I've met vegans that were assholes, but I meet tons of assholes.  Live and let live, I hear a lot more people that eat meat bitching about vegans than vegans bitching about people that eat meat.  Seems a lot of people just want them to be more like them than anything.  On a side note, I hear vegan pussy tastes a lot better than non-vegetarian pussy.

I'm not offended--but seeing someone poking fun at vegans, environmentalists, religiosity, and gun control all in one thread, it just comes off as a lazy attempt to piss someone--anyone--off.

RP on the homeless:

This is actually a good thing, homeless people are everywhere, they also have more money then most of us here on this site that they from from bitch begging on the side of the road, and get pissed and sometimes fight you when you say no to giving em money. Fuck that most of em are worthless and that extraordinary extra money they have can be used to live in a motel or whatever.  Its bad enough we are overpopulated.

We should create a sport with our guns, called homeless hunts. Pit em against hunters in the wild to reduce the population while having a bit of fun. Or like in apocalypto where you make em run through a field where you can shoot em down. Give them a fighting chance. If they don't want to play along then we put them in a vacated city and have a zombie simulator IRL so those zombie lovers get their wish.

I think I prefer to keep thinking of you as a troll, because those are sone shitty IRL opinions otherwise.

I don't think vegans act superior or whatever. Associating them with all the thing OP mentioned is just a stereotype.

I do believe they are the example to follow though, you can find all the nutrients of meat in plant product and they are easier for the digestive system. Plus they do live slightly longer. I would be vegetarian before being a vegan though. I would eat eggs and fish.

My great grand father lived to 105, smoked, drank and ate meat his whole life, my great grandmother lived to 110, my grandfather lived to 87 because of a tumor.  It's more genetics than way of life.

What you're describing is kinda like winning the health lottery. Everybody knows a guy or two who lived until 200 and had an Ozzy Osbourne lifestyle. We also know hundreds who die before they reach 60 years old because of bad habits.

I wouldn't gamble that I'll live to 100 years old, so I'd rather pick a healthy lifestyle and put the odds on my side

The vegans I know are never self-righteous about it, they don't make specific requests if someone else is making food but I and other friends always try to remember them and give them an option anyway. I have never once been preached to by a vegan friend, even while eating meat. I used to be Vegetarian and am still not a huge meat eater, but I do eat it and I'm not going to not order it in a restaurant if I'm eating with vegetarians or something. No one has ever had a problem with this.

My vegan and vegetarian friends know their way around the kitchen and make banging, healthy dishes and I've learned a lot about cooking in general from them. Some of them are super passionate about health food and will talk to me about hemp milk vs rice milk for hours, but never will they preach to me.

I think what you are referring to are assholes.
Assholes will be assholes regardless of dietary orientation.

Actually most vegans/vegetarians keep to themselves and have a very non-pushy attitude. I'm a vegetarian and I never mention it unless the subject comes up, in which case I don't proselytize, I just explain.

If anything, it's the meat eaters get overly defensive if the subject even comes up at all. For instance, 99% of the time on here, if there's any thread remotely relating to vegetarians or vegans, there'll be some asshole who comes in and says "LOL what a bunch of pussies" or "Stupid self-righteous vegetarians, meat is murder tasty tasty murder olololol."

I think vegans are weak, why should any form of life have to be sacrificed for the sake of my survival. I synthesize every vitamin and nutrient I need  in my lab, dilute them in fluid and shoot it up. Sometimes for that extra energy boost i plug my special liquids.

Yeah, for sure.

Compared to the average American I do not eat a lot of meat and didn't for a long time, it's partially for health and partially because I find vegan and vegetarian diets just much more interesting and diverse - vegetable based dishes are just really colorful and pretty...and I like that...:okay:.

I think there's a whole world beyond steak and potatoes and I like to explore different ethnic foods and see what I can do with food that I've grown myself.
I have absolutely no issue with people hunting for food or sport, I think it's a very important aspect of conservation if it's done lawfully(thankyou President FDR for said conservation efforts), and most of my friends feel the same, hell some of them raise and slaughter their own food.

It's simply a personal dietary choice, it doesn't mean those people feel that everyone should make the same one.

 honestly I'm not too surprised. Isn't it possible for someone to live a very long life feeding only on breast milk?

This is just ridiculous tho, "Soylent was designed by software engineer Rob Rhinehart to be a low cost alternative to traditional food that can be prepared and consumed with less time and activity."

Wow that just made humans sound so fucking lazy...

I like this quote, although in my opinion I think fear is much stronger and also had a much bigger impact on humanity.

 I've been in the predicament as often as the times I've felt taking a shit consumed too much time. It only takes 1-3 min to prepare a sandwich. Honestly scratch all that, if you can't even spare 10min to eat when you really need to, it's about time to rearrange priorities.

There is a church dedicated to vegans in New York. I went there three years ago because I wanted to talk to this extremely virtuous person whom looked down upon everyone other than himself for he felt them to be acting in a way that would suggest that he had some sort of hostile notion of them doing some obscene action which he never condoned of. Obviously many precautions must be taken in order to disregard anyone suggesting he is a bad person for he is quite angelic.

He is a great person to have around I never want him to leave. I noticed that he was the kind of person you never wanted to separate from, if you left him you would want to return an instant later, as if, after you left him you wished to become better friends with him. You wanted to know who he was, what he did all day, how he acted in situations, what color toothbrush he used every morning. These were all important things that he wished to discover in his friend, he wanted to know if he could be his best friend forever. Never to not embrace their friendship with open arms, never deciding that the friendship shouldn't have taken root for he was such a great person that made you feel at home. Everything begins at home in a manner that might suggest that home is where you should begin your Journey back East. Since most people are looking to the East for answers in which they have no knowledge of, looking to find out what they thought they didn't know but which they really did. Or as if the East opened up in them a world that adopted a new approach to everything that had came before, for in some ways it did seem indeed that they participated in changing the world.

I cannot say I have anything against them, I think they are trying to help the world and aren't really as bad as people think they are. Some people will insist that they are to be avoided for being overly opinionated, for having a different way of looking at things. They don't look at it in a way that would suggest they looked at it before that way, since everytime they looked back at something it would be a different version of the former way they viewed the world.

You would be changing your view to something which was familiar to you in many ways, you can feel that the relationship between them is very intimate, they are the kind of people with warm hearts and never leave someone outside. They won't not let someone stay in there houses if they need a place to crash for a night, if they wish to stay here noone is banishing them from staying. My wife used to want to ban them from ever coming back for she said that they would talk to much, they would always be saying something I didn't agree with so I avoided them at all costs. I also didn't tell my wife that I didn't think her decision to block them from entering the house was  in good prudence. For some reason I just couldn't keep them around any longer, I decided they would have to return back from where they came from. Though I would miss them all greatly, even though I didn't ever reveal anything that would make this seem true. My wife thought I was cruel in asserting that I would never miss any of them, that I made some sort of mistake in suggesting them to be non essential to his own life, for he ran his own life which didn't move among their "circle" of people. For instance he usually would join into a different circle than the ones they would present to him, he didn't ever wish to join any circle other than his own with his lot, his lot whom consisted of wits and people whom you naturally feel obligated to respect.

My wife is going back to Russia soon, I'm going to miss her when she leaves France and returns back to Russia, she hasn't been to Russia in three years so its going to be great for her to come back. I can't wait for when she leaves me, the part where she legs go of my hand and says I'm on my own again is the best part. Though I also feel broken at her goodbye, for I know I won't see her in atleast a month. She's planning on visiting her cousins brothers mothers nephew because she has plans to rent a hotel there, there is a really elegant hotel there that noone is allowed to enter. There is no way for you to actually enter the hotel without going through the back door, someone has to be in the back room for you to get inside also, which sometimes is hard because they are busy with the guests in the front. The guests whom are waiting for the attendant to assign him a task to find his room, he assigned him the task because he was doing business with other guests. This hotel isn't one for anyone to come to also, you can't just get in without someone outside the situation bringing you in, allowing you to feel the graces of a hotel which is previously unimaginable, since some hotels are so deluxe that there would be noway for anyone other than that owner to have created that hotel.

Some hotels, indeed, have a certain prestige that usually won't go unnoticed, you cannot ignore the interior which screams of a design in which you were the observer, in which you were observing the design before your mother called back for you. I always know when my mom is looking for me, she will ask someone around if she saw me recently, but sometimes she won't find me at all, for I might be absently preoccupied with some small detail, some minute inspection of the surrounding environment, to find something in it I can hold onto, something which informs me of a reality where I wasn't present, where I was no longer the main character, where I had loss all my freedom and become someone other than who I really was.

I felt that someone was playing the role as myself and that I no longer could be claimed to be me, I no longer existed, in a sense. Since, indeed, some people might give the impression of existing but merely are prolonging a painful situation which consists of nothing combining with nothing, usually the two nothings will be brought together and correlate to something which represents nothing.

My grandpa lived to almost be 80 and he smoked 2-3 packs a day and drank an entire handle of scotch every 2 days on top of boxed wine and beer.  My grandma was a really good cook too and they ate a serious breakfast/lunch/dinner everyday and none of it was healthy.  They didn't eat processed foods though...
